Watching such movies, and especially this one, makes you miss the 40s, even though you weren't born then. Everything seemed so good. This is a family drama that has enough of sentiment, patriotism, melodrama, okay acting and some great songs. You'll like it.

Sweet movie with a simple theme, namely, virtue triumphs.

Patriotic theme, at the time of anticipated independence of India, this musical has been put together well by AVM studios. The best part are the songs of D. K. Pattammal, T. R. Mahalingam and the dances of Kumari Kamala. Many of the songs are to the patriotic lyrics of the first modern Tamil poet, Subrahmanya Bharathi.

A. K. Sarangapani comes as one of the villains, as a 60 year old rich black-marketeer planning of marry the beautiful teenage daughter of his business partner. To complicate the situation this beautiful girl is deeply in love with his son. The son is swindled by his "friends", out of all his money. But through the generosity of his brother everything turns out well, in the end.
