LONDON -- U.K. independent distributor Soda Pictures said Thursday that it has snapped up British and Irish rights to E.J. Yong's Untold Scandal. An adaptation of the French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses, the movie is set in 17th-century Korea and stars Bae Yong-jun (Winter Sonata). It is the third feature for E.J. Yong after An Affair and Asako but is his first to obtain U.K. distribution. Soda Pictures managing director Eve Gabereau said she had been negotiating the deal with Korean sales company CJ Entertainment since the Berlin International Film Festival in February. Soda Pictures said it plans to release the film early next year. No further details were available.
