Lucecita and her mother leave the country and go to Lima for health reasons. Gustavo, a rich landlord is also on his way back to his wife, Angelina.

Lucecita and Rosa settle in with Modesta and Sergio. Meanwhile Gustavo is under pressure for one reason or another by his wife and her parents.

Rosa learns her diagnosis. Gustavo helps some poor people. Lucecita believes her return to the country is close. Miguel discovers an interesting fact about some properties. Angelina is preoccupied with her marriage.

Lucecita struggles with life in the big city. Modesta begs Miguel to visit Rosa. Gustavo buys an expensive necklace for Angelina. Graciela is certain her husband is hiding something.

Miguel makes a vow and gives orders to Modesta. Lucecita mourns. Angelina wants to throw a big party. Graciela wants an explanation and gives a warning. Gustavo isn't interesting in developing a new business.

Modesta presents Lucecita to the Mendoza y Rivero family. Graciela expresses her disapproval. Álvaro is drunk and feels unloved. Gustavo dislikes spending time at the club.

Lucecita officially meets Gustavo and puts on the maid uniform. Miguel tries to use Álvaro for a legal scheme. Angelina and Silvia go shopping. Mirtha has the evening off and takes her new dress for a walk.

Lucecita is ready to be a good maid but being absent-minded is a burden. Graciela and Miguel have a horrible argument. Angelina is basking. Sergio shares his opinion about the Mendoza family.

Lucecita tells Miguel her life story and ask Sergio to aid her paint her room. Angelina is very worried about her marriage and convinces Álvaro to talk to Gustavo. Miguel finds Graciela' resentment to Álvaro peculiar.

Miguel is stunned by Graciela' behavior and coldness. Gustavo discovers why Lucecita is sad. In order to cover herself, Mirtha plants a thought into Angelina' head. Sergio starts giving reading lessons.

On the way back from the cemetery Gustavo makes a stop at the post office and Lucecita being curious of the street fair, gets lost. Angelina can't think of anything else but her husband. Sergio finishes painting Lucecita' room.

Gustavo clears the whole situation with the authorities. Meanwhile Angelina torments herself and her family with her jealousy and worrying. Álvaro does everything to convince the paper chief editor to think twice. Mirtha is way too indiscreet. Sergio searches everywhere.

Gustavo and Miguel have an argument. Lucecita receives a present. The entire household prepares for the big celebration under Angelina' orders. Sergio learns from Dr Gutiérrez what it takes to become a physician. Modesta manages to arrange a night off for the help.

The celebration is in full swing and Gustavo feels completely bored and out of place. Sergio gives Lucecita an etiquette and dancing lessons. Angelina won't listen to Álvaro' advice. Mirtha sets a trap.

The household is divided when Lucecita is grateful for Angelina' generosity and in reality it's something entirely different.

Gustavo listens to Álvaro' confession. Angelina is in bed, drowning in jealousy and spite that Mirtha fuels more and more. Lucecita wants to look after Miguel but he builds too many walls between them. Sergio is certain in his calling and asks for Gustavo' help.

Angelina agrees to be examined by a doctor but all the papers with her medical history seem to have disappeared. Sergio won't accept the facts of reality regarding his calling and receives advice from Martín. Lucecita is convinced that love isn't for her. Gustavo is very confused in his feelings.

Angelina screams in terrible pain during the examination. Álvaro and Mirtha exchange some thoughts based on recent events. Sergio can't understand why Modesta isn't supportive regarding his feelings. Gustavo is curious about Lucecita' attitude towards Sergio. Doña María experiences kindness that melts her heart.

Sergio takes Lucecita for a sea promenade. Unable to focus on his business, Gustavo takes Angelina out. Modesta worries too much about Sergio' blossoming feelings. The doctor is determined to unravel everything about Angelina' paralysis.

Lucecita and Gustavo feel strange every time they're alone. Angelina is blinded by jealousy. Mirtha' pride is hurt. Sergio accompanies Dr Gutiérrez to a local village. Graciela lectures Lucecita and goes a little too far.

Angelina gets Mirtha to plant a certain note and then acting scared, makes Miguel to be alerted all night. Gustavo makes a full confession to Emilio. Lucecita is sad and her problems are far from over.

Lucecita starts thinking of going back to the country but Modesta 'paints' her an image of what might that be like now. Miguel is fully prepared to solve the mystery of the note as he confronts Angelina. Gustavo and Álvaro come to an understanding that Angelina should have new x-rays.

Lucecita looks after Modesta, who is indisposed and Sergio is thrilled to live his dream of a happy family of three. Angelina shakes with fear when Dr Elliot starts looking at the x-rays.

Gustavo is surprised to learn that Dr Elliot refuses to threat Angelina. Amador delivers to Lucecita and Modesta the latest news from the mansion. Graciela shouts, blames and smothers everyone with her bad temper.

Although Lucecita wins over Emilio, he councils Gustavo to think more about his marriage. Mirtha strongly recommends to Angelina not to go too far. Gustavo lets his emotions take over. Sergio nurtures his love and Modesta gently tries to discourage him.

A letter from Lucecita arrives for Modesta. Martín advises Sergio to leave and fight for his love. Álvaro' conscience drives him to an outburst that fuels all Graciela' spite. Lucecita thinks of accepting the job offer.

Lucecita begins work while Gustavo is out working on the land. Graciela is consumed by the invitation for the royal ball and convinces Angelina to go out dress shopping. Álvaro finds it impossible to live in lies and a chance presents to him to show some compassion.

It's the day of the festival and even Graciela is forced to participate. Lucecita discovers the details of Angelina' incident. Sergio arrives and his appearance is quite surprising.

The frustration of Gustavo ends with taking it out on the workers. Miguel is unwell but Graciela remains calm. Sergio returns home with bad news, however for Angelina it's horrible news. Emilio brings the chorus to the mansion as a gratitude for the help during the festival.

Angelina is ready to leave for the country. Mirtha collects a peculiar item from the cobbler. Lucecita feels terribly guilty that drive her to a desperate action. Gustavo is both confused and overwhelmed. Álvaro attempts to clear Angelina' doubts.
