Very Intriguing Pschycological Drama of Lalettan

Intriguing psychological drama with Lalettan as the main character. The title of the movie is in red letters and it looks as if it's written in blood. The scene in which Sathyan is transferred from the District Jail of Kozhikode to the Central Prison has ominous background music as Sathyan views the outside world for the last time in his life. Lalettan as Sathyanathan may seem like the villain but as you watch the movie, you might see him as a conflicted man who was only doing what he thought was right by not using the best method. Killing people is wrong, evil, malicious etc but there's a bigger atrocity shown in this movie which is human trafficking. It's a major atrocity and there's no action being taken against it. There are two underage girls in this movie that were on the verge of falling victim to it and Sathyan thought that the only way to save was to kill them so they could die and go to heaven in peace. In other words, Sathyan's actions are wrong and condemnable but he did it for the greater good. I'm not supporting or encouraging crime or anything like that. I'm just saying that sometimes people make the wrong choices for the right reasons but they can still be wrong and Sathyan made the wrong choice but for the right reason but his way is the wrong way. Anyhow, Sathyan is a telanted aritst who does lots of paintings and I myself am an aritst but I don't paint, instead I do app art. For Example, I use Canva to make designs. Now back to the movie, Sathyan has painted not only oridinary paintings but he also painted signboards and billboards. I honestly find it somewhat odd as to why Sathyan killed Vijayan considering that they were friends but I realized why later in the movie. I would say Augustine as Chandran is the main villain in this movie since he's a pimp. Sathyan gave him just what he deserved which was a thrashing. Now, the murder scene is horrifying and very very gruesome with scary background music. However, the climax is the most terrifying of all as Sathyan is gonna be hanged to death. The scene where Sathyan is escorted to the gallows is the most terrifying as the scene has scary background music. The ending makes you want to cry as Jaya weeps over Sathyan's dead body. This movie was meant to end sad as it would make the most sense. Sadly, not all stories end happy and this 🎥 was bound to end sad.

A Sibi Malayil Classic that finds the most compatible way to deal with complicated themes like depression, psychic reaction and outburst against grisly crimes.

Sadayam (1992) : Brief Review -

A Sibi Malayil Classic that finds the most compatible way to deal with complicated themes like depression, psychic reaction and outburst against grisly crimes. Sadayam can be viewed by two points of views. One is accepting the simple theories of human reactions even if they are gruesome and paranoid sometimes and second is understanding the darkness and depression behind the character which expresses too much with the help of artistic framework. These things aren't that easy to understand for mass lovers but the first one is still fairly understandable for any kind of Audience. The main reason behind this is, the increasing crime rate of the society, especially with those helpless and poor people who are forced into immoral business by the extreme nature of their poor conditions. Sadayam deals with the same issue but presents it from the point of view of a good man. The one who has been bullied once in childhood but has overcome now and is doing well but meets the past again which is heading towards a future. I know it sounds complicated even while reading it but you have to put your brain at work for some time. Sadayam follows the final days of a condemned prisoner, for murdering two little girls and two men and the how it affects his jail life as well people's thinking about him. Mohanlal plays Satya very convincingly. His character is full of varities and he does not compromise while excelling all those different shades. Watch out for that Psycho Act scene. Mathu as Jaya is splendid even though i had some issues with the writing of her character. The supporting cast is fine, dialogues are good, cinematography is superb, technical support is praiseworthy and Sibi sir's direction is on point. Trying hands in such theme is a great thing already and then he delivered a Classic. Big Victory.

A masterpiece

Only MT could have thought of such a complicated story line. It takes you to a whole new experience.

The characters compete with each other in perfection. But its Lal who is at its best again. The movie takes you to the million dollar question on Death penalty and the judicial system. Thilakan had a very different role as the victims father. And and him taking a very different approach towards the end.

The back ground music complements the movies theme gracefully. This is one movie which you need to see in one go waiting for each scene to unfold. You will!!

A perfect movie.

This is movie is getting a lot of review these days in social media. It's one of the best performance by Mohanlal. But, characters who achieved perfection is not much discussed along with Sathya, the fault is wit the actors; they should do some bad acting at-least once in a while :). This is the problem when they are always perfect. Thialakan, Murali,Nedumudi Venu, KPAC Lalitha,Janardhanan,TG Ravi, Sreenivasan such all the actors were just perfect in their character. The strong writing of MT, the frames of Sibi Malayil who knows the beat of audience heart strengthens the back bone of the movie. There is no comedy, no unwanted scenes or dialogues, as such 2 hours 30 minutes movie will not bore you for a second. Once you start watching the movie, you are immersed in it.

This movie will remain in your heart for a long time. #KiduMovie

A masterpiece by M. T. Vasudevan ji

What a fine crafted masterpiece is this, no words can explain this. This movie is a pure 2 and half hours gripping screenplay to watch of which every second will keep your eyes stuck to the screen with sometimes moist and sometimes wide opened with the exceptional brilliance of Mohan Lal.

It's very difficult to believe that this is a story of imagination.

Every character is brilliantly executed and it would be an injustice to highlight few names but can't help myself without mentioning about Lalettn's acting. He has been so natural with his acting he has literally lived the character.

This Movie will leave a mark in your heart and mind and will keep you pondering for a while.

This Cinema truly belongs to the Golden Era of Malayalam cinemas.

Brilliant direction and brilliantly executed Masterpiece.
