Server Sundaram
mist2524 October 2006
One of the best movies in Tamil. I saw the movie twice in theaters and more than 5 times on TV.

In this movie a Hotel Waiter (server) wants to become a movie star. He has inferiority complex because of his face and figure. He starts loving the daughter of the Hotel, who is already in love with his best friend.

The best thing in the movie is the action of Nagesh ,but all the other items are very entertaining in this picture.

It is a black and White picture.

This picture was not directed by K.Balachander, who wrote only the screen play and the dialogs.

Nagesh's tour de force

It requires guts to make a film with such an unusual theme, but then K Balachander has never been short on guts. Nagesh plays a waiter who becomes a film star, who falls in love with KR Vijaya but loses her to his best friend. The film rest on the able shoulders of Nagesh, who displays his awesome acting prowess in every frame. The screenplay is taut, and though there are cliches here and there, when the film ends you feel satisfied at having spent 3 entertaining and thought-provoking hours. Truly a classic.

Best of Nagesh

We all know famous Nagesh played two unforgettable movies. But Server sundaram is most inspired. Some scenes gives most realistic. Like the conversation between Nagesh and his mother after the joining in the cinema. That acting like a chennai local guy, same getup and voice tone still not get from any actor(Danush in Anegan). From my concern Server sundaram is the Master piece for Nagesh.
