Philippino mis-fire drama.
Mozjoukine24 October 2008
Made in 'Scope and English, this appears to be a misguided attempt by the Philippino industry to crash the international market.

We get topless women, cruelty to animals, folklorico customs, the contrast between simple village people and the hard hearts of the city, dueling with axes and lots and lots of the Radcliffe educated, knife wielding, body doubled, long suffering tribal princess leading lady."Asia's Best Actress."

Even reduced to a better paced effort it's hard to imagine anyone would find this particularly involving. It does have the curiosity of being a Philippino movie in English (companion to the PACIFIC CONNECTION)and competent filming and recording.

Philippino Stalwart Edie Garcia gets brief running time as a mean city in-law and acts double to make up for the inexpressiveness of his fellow performers. It's welcome.
