Not bad
davidholanda25 September 2017
The movie is not bad, but I did not really care about it. Until the script is good, even though it's less interesting. You know, it was kind of monotonous all the part of the film, because, I think it does not have those classic jokes of Roberto Gómez Bolaños. The story is more or less different from the other works that Roberto did, but, it's a bit generic. Well, I appreciate all the work they did, the movie is not bad, it's cool, with the classic Chesperito actors with a beautiful story and deserves to be well received here in Brazil and in the world.

Not as funny as expected, but it was good to see the old gang back.

For those who are fans of the great Chespirito, it is great to see a film that reunites the cast of Chaves and Chapolin. The problem is that the film has not aged well.

Here Roberto Bolãnos plays El Chanfle, the ball boy of Mexico's football club America, who faces problems with money and has to deal with his wife's pregnancy.

This is a Latin American story, so I don't think it will appeal to people in other parts of the world.

The cast is the same as in the Chaves and Chapolim series, and the actors are brilliant as always. Still, some are used poorly, for example, María Antonieta de las Nieves, who appears very little. The highlight goes to the drunk played by Raúl Padilla and Angelines Fernández, who plays his wife.

In the '70s, the kind of humor used in this film may have been funny, but it doesn't work for today's audience. The situations are stretched out for too long, and some jokes are repeated. For example, the first time El Chanfle accidentally destroys his boss's office (Rubén Aguirre), it was funny. It was no longer funny by the third time.

I would recommend it for Roberto Bolãnos fans, but not for the general public.

Good enough

Warning: Spoilers
The main problem i see with this movie is that in certain moments, it seems as two movies blended in one and they don't actually mix well, the first movie is some old school wacky film with slapstick, malapropisms and misunderstandings being used for jokes, the other movie is your average old school Disney-like family film with "touching moments" some corny lesson and even a musical number (which is odd because, they just start singing and then it never happens during the rest of the movie), overall, is pretty good but only kids will really enjoy the whole movie, the few music is good, the direction is good and the acting is quite good too.

One of the best childhood movies

I don't understand how "El Chanfle" is so underrated. It's one of the best films of my childhood and the best Mexican film about soccer and how not to laugh with the actors from the worldwide well-known TV show "Chavo Del 8" such as Chespirito, Ramón Valdéz (Don Ramón), Edgar Vivar (El Señor Barriga) this time on another paper. Rubén Aguirre (Professor Jirafales), María Antonieta De Las Nieves (La Chilindrina), Angelines Fernandez (Doña Clotilde), Carlos Villagrán (Kiko), Florinda Meza (Doña Florinda) and Raúl Chato Padilla (Jaimito El Cartero). It seems to me a very funny and entertaining movie and how to lower its score by working with the entire cast of Chavo Del 8. I loved the movie and it is very enjoyable to watch as a family. A curiosity is that El Chavo in an episode at the theater, says he wants to see the Chanfle movie again, naming this movie when it was released. The best Mexican soccer (and sports) movie.

Lost in the region.

One could have expected that Roberto Gómez Bolaños' achievements in `El Chavo' and `El Chapulín Colorado' would be continued in this movie; but this time, he managed to create rather a different but ordinary character: a poor class man who is a passionate fan of the local soccer team, that happens to be someone nobody cares about, but at least his own big dreams keep him on the track. in others words, yet another `mexicano soñador' (Mexican dreamer) kind of guy. The plot is very silly, and the routines a la `Blake Edwards' are overexploited. `El Chanfle' lacks originality and is very boring. It clearly looks it is a low-budget movie, but I think this is not an excuse for being so bad.
