Thanks for the great review... yes it's sad that there was only one season.. here's a couple more reasons for the one season wonder thing!.( there are a number of one season wonders out there..did you see SAM and MAX?.. ).. Biggest reason,,BIRDZ aired on CBS saturday morning at eleven o'clock, after a two hour (adult)news block.. this was complete suicide.. of course there was no audience. ( the adult audience turned off CBS after the news was over)... the kids that may have been watching this network earlier in the day changed the channel already to disney or wb.. no brainer there!.. the show was totally original and had no pre-sold materials, such as books ( no huge publisher behind the show to push for a better time slot)or toys ( no monster merchandiser to persuade the producer to think twice) or movies..CBS had an educational mandate that held the creator and writing team to an "educational pro-social" theme for all episodes... that being so, the show was a bit softer (a bit too much time spent on moral issues) than need be at 11 o'clock Saturday morning. please check out my web site... .... for more info and my address. thanks again and I'm working on new stuff and hope to come up with something as interesting and charming as Birdz sometime in the future.

It should return...

In 1998, when I was in the fifth grade, I loved to watch this show on CBS. Unfortunately, it only lasted a single season. I feel bad for switching to a dumb fad at midseason. I am desperate to see it again. Nick, please hear me.

Why didn't it last?

There are so many shows nowadays that are great as they are and just didn't get enough attention. This was definitely one of them.

"Birdz" is an animated comedy for kids about life in the city of Birdland, where all the inhabitants are birds. Particularly, about the (mis)adventures of Eddie Storkowitz and his family as they watch Eddie strive to one day become the next Steven Spielbird.

What makes this show so great? EVERYTHING! The characters are easy to relate to, the stories are hilarious, as well as educational, and it's definitely something fresh. I mean, we've all seen the dog, cat and mouse shows, why not try something different?

I also know that I'm not alone in my opinion. I know both kids and adults that watched this show and found themselves laughing at just about everything they saw. Oddly enough it only lasted one season apparently due to low ratings.

I urge everyone to take a look at this show at least once. It would be a shame to see it go the way of the dodo. (pardon the pun)
