The Tribeca Festival unveiled the talks, retrospectives and reunions that will dot the festival including milestone anniversaries of Casino with fest co-founder Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese; Best in Show with Christopher Guest, Parker Posey, John Michael Higgins, Jane Lynch and Michael McKean; Requiem for a Dream with Darren Aronofsky and Ellen Burstyn; American Psycho with Mary Harron; and Shivers with David Cronenberg.

De Niro also joins Ben Stiller and producer Jane Rosenthal, Tribeca Enterprises CEO, to celebrate 25 years of Meet the Parents.

“I’m beyond excited to be back with Bob and Ben to celebrate Meet the Parents—a movie that’s been making families laugh (and cringe) for a quarter-century,” Rosenthal said. “With the fourth installment of the franchise in the works, it feels like the perfect time to revisit some of the moments that made this film an instant classic. Tribeca is all about celebrating the stories that stay with us.

A fresh slate of films and events has been added to the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival lineup, including the world premiere of a new doc about Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, and anniversary screenings of Casino, Paris Is Burning, and Best in Show.

Call Her Alex is a new two-part docuseries directed by Ry Russo-Young that promises to explore Cooper’s impressive rise from “podcasting rookie to media mogul.” Cooper and Russo-Young will also participate in a live conversation following the film’s premiere, which is scheduled to arrive on Hulu later this year.

The already highly-anticipated 2025 Tribeca Festival just got an extra boost of star power. IndieWire can announce that Martin Scorsese, David Cronenberg, Darren Aronofsky, and Christopher Guest are among the auteurs who will be in attendance for respective film anniversary reunions.

Tribeca staple Scorsese will be on hand to mark the 30th anniversary of “Casino” with a special screening and conversation alongside actor and Tribeca co-founder Robert De Niro. Scorsese will also introduce a special 35mm screening of “Kundun” in honor of the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday.

Se7en, the deeply disturbing serial killer film from director David Fincher, is turning 30 this year. While you silently cry over how many years have passed, here's an awesome detail that Fincher has just confirmed: Kevin Spacey wasn't his first choice to play the cold-blooded killer, John Doe. As it turns out, another, much different Hollywood legend was his first pick.

Fincher spoke to Variety about the film's upcoming 4K restoration, and he used the opportunity to reminisce about making such an important film in his career. Alien 3 had opened to terrible reviews, and three years later, Fincher was still feeling the effects of an industry that had turned its back on him. The nominations won’t be announced till January 9, but the Art Directors Guild has found a host for its 29th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards. Actress Rachael Harris will command the stage for the February 15 ceremony at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown.

For the 23rd year in a row, NBC gave thanks to man’s best friend on Thursday with the 2024 National Dog Show, easily TV’s classiest annual dog-themed competition. (No offense, Puppy Bowl!)

More than 1,800 dogs representing over 190 different breeds competed this time around, with the very good-est boys and girls convening at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center to witness the crowning of this year’s Best in Show winner. The dogs were divided into seven groups — Terrier, Toy, Working, Sporting, Hound, Non-Sporting and Herd — with one winner from each going on to compete for Best in Show.

Otherwise, this slick if uninspired first feature for actors turned writer-directors Marisa Guterman and Keith Gerchak offers a pleasant-enough ensemble seriocomedy that straddles the terrains of Richard Curtis and Christopher Guest, without approaching either’s high points. The Newport Beach Fest world premiere’s familiar faces and story beats seem best suited to home viewing.

An opening montage to the retro pop of Bobby Darin singing “Artificial Flowers” — an incongruously brassy, “Mack the Knife”-like arrangement of a depressing slum-tragedy lyric from 1960 Broadway musical “Tenderloin” — introduces the characters, as well as a sense that this midwestern metropolis’ growth stalled some decades ago.

The second major spin-off of "The Big Bang Theory" — which itself is a spin-off of the spin-off "Young Sheldon" — gives away the game right there in the title. "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" gives Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and his wife Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment), who got married in season 7 of "Young Sheldon," the spotlight as they try to navigate a life together as young parents. The thing is because Chuck Lorre keeps expanding the Sheldon Cooper Cinematic Universe (the Sccu?) even though Sheldon Cooper's future is firmly established thanks to The Big Bang Theory — where Jim Parsons plays Sheldon — we already know that Georgie gets married and divorced twice, hence the words "first marriage" in that title.

Universal and DreamWorks Animation have unveiled the latest trailer for The Wild Robot, a new adaptation of a literary sensation, Peter Brown’s beloved, award-winning, #1 New York Times bestseller.

The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—Rozzum unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

A miniature Poodle named Sage has won Best in Show at the 2024 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

This historic win marks the fourth time a Miniature Poodle has secured the top honor at the prestigious event. It cements the breed’s legacy as a favorite dog breed nationwide.

Sage’s journey to the pinnacle of canine excellence began with a performance in the Non-Sporting Group, where she outshone her peers and secured her place in the final round. Sage faced off against an impressive lineup of champions from diverse breed groups, but her poise, confidence and undeniable charm ultimately earned her the top title. This marks the first female Best in Show winner since 2020.

Stache, a Sealyham Terrier officially known as Gchp Ch Goodspice Efbe Money Stache, emerged as the victor of the 22nd Annual National Dog Show Presented by Purina and earned the title of Thanksgiving Day champion.

The event, hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, took place on November 23 and was televised on NBC after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Stache, who lives in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, with his handler Margery Good from Cochranville, achieved a hometown victory. Good expressed her exhilaration at the victory, and praised Stache’s ability to handle multiple distractions and his well-balanced nature. “He’s so well-balanced, and he loves to show,” she stated.
