After the triple tier caged match, when the King is shown holding the title belt, his name already appears on the nameplate but Diamond Dallas Page was the champion going into the match. It should be noted, however, on the WCW product it was not unusual for the name plate not be changed for several weeks after a title change.
When Jimmy King pulls down the venetian blind slats in his mobile home, he's using his left and right hands in alternate shots.
During the first wrestling match between Diamond Dallas Page and Jimmy King, a table is seen set up outside of the ring with nothing on it. In the very next shot when Page tosses King out of the ring and through the table, magazines and other materials suddenly appear on the table.
When Wendy goes to the window at the fast food restaurant to say hi to Gordie and Sean, she puts on her headset twice.
During Gordy's daydream sequence, the mean clerk says the purple sugar slush is $1.26. When Gordy is snapped out of his daydreaming and goes to get a refill, the sign on the slush machine says the price is $1.25.
The picture of Gordie and King doing commentary never happens.
Why doesn't security check the Portia potty??? This makes little sense as this film takes place in 2000, and security would be everywhere and they would certainly check a Portia potty because of crazed fans and other possible problems. This creates a major error and would not happen in real life as easy as depicted.
Jimmy King is unfairly exiled from WCW for life. Given his status as a megastar wrestler, WCW's rival, and bigger promotion WWF would have accepted him in their company. The exclusion of WWF was deliberate as the film was used as a tool to increase WCW's popularity again.
The championship belt used in the movie is silver in color with small areas in gold. The real WCW belt that looks the same in design is all gold. Its a replica that was re-painted.
While King and Page wrestle their first match, they discuss the moves they will be doing and when, which is how pro-wrestling works. But they talk way too loud and don't even try to hide the visibility of their mouths moving. This would completely lose the suspension of disbelief which is what wrestling is all about.
When Sasha is trying to convince Gordie, Sean tries to warn her about the ladder but she gets hit by it anyway. It is an obvious stuntwoman at the moment of impact and if you slow the scene down the ladder never makes contact with the stuntwoman's face.
After Diamond Dallas Page wins the first match he wrestles against Jimmy King in the movie, Titus Sinclair announces to the audience that they have just witnessed the demise of Jimmy King and that he would never "fight"/ wrestle for the WCW again. However, Titus Sinclair agrees to a steel cage championship match involving both wrestlers later in the story.
The fight in the convenience store you can see the difference in shades of coloring between the ring mat built into the ground and the real flooring.
Sean says Jimmy King is the longest undefeated wrestler ever. Later, Sinclair mentions to King that he has been wrestling for fourteen years. King being undefeated for fourteen years is not the longest winning streak in pro-wrestling. Andre the Giant was undefeated for fifteen years. The Fabulous Moolah was undefeated for twenty-seven years.
When the crooked promoter tells Jimmy King that his career is over, this is not actually possible in wrestling. Jimmy King could still have a long career because of the independent wrestling circuit, and he could even do wrestling conventions, and possibly be signed with another company.Considering he had a fourteen year career as well, he would be a valuable asset even if he never wrestled again, so this creates a major plot hole and makes little sense.
Several moves the wrestlers do only work if there is participation from both men and is shown. However, the movie contradicts itself when participation between both men is not being done.
Why does Jimmy think he can win the cage match? He should know as a professional wrestler that the matches are fixed, and the crooked promoter could simply change the finish to what ever he pleased, and the whole plot makes little sense, as promoters not only have done this, but do it frequently. Making the whole end of the film, make little sense.
Isaac tells Gordie he's being too loud when he's playing with his toys. But when Sean is singing Britney Spears in a much louder tone, Isaac does nothing.
At approx. 12 mins. Gordie refers to the show they will be attending as "Monday Night Nitro." But the program was actually titled "WCW Monday Nitro."
