I'll be Smurfy later

The humans and Smurfs are going about their Yuletide traditions in their own separate way until they cross paths with a poor old man who is unable to effectively look after his sick wife. A heartless thief pinching gold from the humans also learns the 'true meaning of Xmas' or some other nonsense when the Smurfs reprimand him.

Why does every Xmas film/TV special try to preach this 'true meaning' morality on us? Plus, it's a different thing each time, rarely featuring baby Jesus. So what's the true 'true meaning'? It's still a cozy little cartoon that will help you get in the mood. Hardly a classic though.

I thought that the characters were really funny and all had great personalities. The animation in My opinion was crisp, clean, and really clear. Not to mention beautiful! Most of the characters in this show are hilarious like the Looney Tunes characters that we all love. in My opinion these characters are the funnies and talented ever seen. In fact, The things that goes on in this series' cartoons are in My opinion nuts which that is what makes them hilarious! There are so many to like and laugh at and the silly things they do! If you like the original Looney Tunes and animated films then I strongly recommend that you watch this movie today!

'Tis the Season to Be Smurfy (1987)

*** (out of 4)

The Smurfs learn the true meaning of Christmas when they put their own plans to the side in order to help out a poor man with a sick wife. If you're a fan of the television show then there's no question that you're going to be entertained by this Christmas special, which pretty much does everything you'd expect a film like this to do. For starters, the film certainly gets across the Christmas spirit without having to preach. I really liked the way the film used the Smurfs to show how greed can ruin the holiday while if you help someone it will make your own holiday much better. There was also some pretty funny stuff here including the early stuff inside Smurf Village when Wild Smurf shows up destroying everything because he doesn't know what Christmas is. There's a subplot involving a thief that really never pays off too much but this is just a small problem. For the most part the animation is good and check out the bad guy who looks like a cross between Fred Flintstone and Gargamel.
