Some Amusing Scenes, Nothing Special
chekist-215 February 2006
Very strange "plot" for this one. A few funny scenes, such as Ron Jeremy telling a guy he just caught masturbating, "Don't worry buddy just go about your business."

But most of the sex scenes are standard and nothing stands out at all. Fans of bondage may be amused by some of the sequences, as there are a couple in the film. One is particularly amusing as Ron Jeremy engages in some bondage action with an unwilling partner. The film has a very detached feel, almost otherworldly, as one struggles to follow the story which is very disjointed and hard to follow. No music soundtrack, either, and many scenes with few words.

Potentially nasty document extinguished by rampant boredom

Warning: Spoilers
Early stag films were often referred to as "smokers". They had little plot, a sleazy atmosphere, a mean-spirited tone, the women were treated like receptacles, and they were watched by faceless men in smoky basements (thus the term). Veronica Rocket's film is an attempt to recapture the odious vibe of those pioneering skinflicks. She doesn't really succeed because much of this admittedly odd film is boring.

The plot involves a private detective (John Leslie) investigating a bunch of people who are gathering vibrators containing bombs that will be used to blow up the world. Yes, you heard it right. Sharon Mitchell, reliable as always, is the kooky Madame Suque, owner of a sex shop and S/M dungeon and the brains behind the vibrator build-up. Ron Jeremy, repulsive as always, is Mitchell's Igor-like right hand man.

The original poster for this featured a woman, her face imprisoned in a scary leather mask, suspended from a chain above a floor. It was a stark, provocative image. Unfortunately, "Smoker" is extinguished (!) by bad lighting, yucky direction and uninspired performances. Leslie has so little to do that when he finally screws the gorgeous Joanna Storm and screws her with nothing but malicious lust, the whole film springs anew like a crooked petal in an ill but necessary wind.

The only smoker-like aspect of this raincoater filler is the pernicious nature of the flesh injections.
