excellent! Joyful, playful and educational!
danicadilly1 May 2006
This series is excellent and stands out in children's (and adults!) entertainment. It is educational with joyful and playful abandon. I highly recommend it for all ages but especially if you are looking for great role models and riveting entertainment for your children. My 5 year old has been watching the DVD's since he was 2 and he still bounces around the room like a kangaroo while he watches these favorites! We have to get these wonderful Canadian(?) DVD's posted to us here in Australia and eagerly anticipate each new release. If you are a parent in North America count yourself very fortunate to have such easy access to these fabulous productions. I highly recommend every DVD produced to date by "Zoboomafoo". Enjoy!

Great For Kids
AngelHonesty9 January 2020
I remember watching this as a kid and absolutely loving it. The brothers are great together as they introduce fun animals to the viewers. The show is full of educational fun for kids and highly entertaining. It was awesome that they used real animals for the show. It was too bad that they canceled it after two seasons!

Cute and educational
gcaceres-17 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
OK, I know that most baby shows are completely stupid (barney, Dora, Diego, wonder pets, etc). This is an exception. Why? It gives proper facts. The puppet (Zaboo) is very well-made, and looks pretty real, unlike the sock puppets you see on other kiddy shows. I like how it also gives a good laugh. Monkeys throwing pies at the guys' faces, falling in mud and, of course, the little closet thing, if you know what I mean. Now, I'll compare it to its equivalent, Go Diego Go. First, Diego talks partially in Spanish. Even though I'm of Spanish descent, I'm against this because it confuses kids into thinking that they're the same language. Zoboomafoo is in 100% English, and kids learn interesting words like rodent, primate, etc. Diego conveniently ignores the diet of predators, and says that, for example, when a puma is stalking the target animal, say, a deer, then Diego says that Baby Deer is afraid of thew puma, instead of mentioning that pumas kill and eat deer. Zoboomafoo is aimed at a similar audience (4-7 year olds), but shows that predators are not mean, and that it's part of nature. One last thing: While Diego shows all animals, from anacondas to bears as harmless, helpless creatures, Zoboomafoo shows at the end of each episode that wild animals can be dangerous. Overall, this is one of the best shows for young kids.

Heck, I'm 22, and I love it!
JBoze31320 September 2001
This is a great show. I'm 22, and I watch the show all the time. It teaches a lot to kids and adults...I sure as heck don't know half of the facts they give about various wild animals. The Kratt brothers have an awesome chemistry together, and they're very good on the screen. The lemur, I think it is, is cute, and it works really well also. The show is clearly aimed at children, but for adults, it's a fun way to learn new stuff about all sorts of animals, and because of that, I highly recommend it. 10/10

It deserved that Emmy.
jrtube25 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This show is a masterpiece. It deserves that Emmy. R.I.P Jovian (Zoboomafoo) 1994 - 2014. I like this show. It looks like it was made in 2004 except it was made in 1999. I like how they teach a lot of facts, and the Kratt Brothers. In fact, i rate this 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000/10 It should be like 8.5/10 not 7.6/10. So the information:

Zoboomafoo is an educational kids TV Series with lessons about Animals. The Kratt Brothers, (Martin, Chris) and Zoboomafoo (a real life lemur named Jovian) Teach about Wildlife. They go through episodes teaching different topics. And there is also some gags, Like One of the Kratt Brothers (sometimes zoboomafoo) falling into the water and falling down. They teach in very fun, simple and Impressive ways.

Now back to what i am saying: I learned about Zoboomafoo from TheOdds1Out. I liked the show even after i saw some episodes. I highly recommend this show to Kids and Adults. So i would recommend this 10/10

Zoboomafoo is a great show for learning about animals for example (Aye Aye). In this show comes with few minute of Zoboo land stories. The characters in Zoboo land is Sempson, Zoboo, Narche, Gooble, Snow lemur, and other more character. Zoboomafoo did perfect for the animals name like Toothbrush the elephant. Gorden Robertson did a great voice with Zoboo. The hedgehog's are very cute. Whats funny that Tooth brush plays the harmonica. The Kratt Brothers are very smart in this show. The coatis are also cute. Whats cool is that there is a food machine. The tooth comb is very interesting. Merdall the blood hound is very beautiful.

Zoboomafoo: An Engaging and Educational Show for Young Nature Lovers
hdoerr-021087 January 2024
As someone recently watching Zoboomafoo, I would like to share my thoughts on the show. One of the best things about the show is how it teaches children about animals and their habitats fun and engagingly. The characters on the show are pretty lovable, and using a real lemur as the main character adds a unique touch to the show. The show's focus on conservation and the environment is commendable as well.

However, there were a few areas of improvement. The show can sometimes feel repetitive, with similar themes and topics explored in different episodes. Additionally, some of the jokes and humor used on the show may be less entertaining for older viewers, although they are sure to delight younger audiences. Despite these minor flaws, I would still recommend Zoboomafoo to parents looking for an educational show their children will enjoy. The engaging and informative content of the show makes it an excellent option for kids interested in nature and animals.

i practically lived in "Zabooland"

Warning: Spoilers
Everyday, without fail, I would watch Zoboomafoo. This was before I started going to kindergarten of course, but that's beside the point. When I was little, I loved learning about animals. I liked to know what they ate, looked like, where they lived. And Zoboomafoo helped me learn a lot. I always tried my hardest to figure out what animal Zoboo saw that day while he sang his "Who Could It Be?" song. I just loved that show. Even now, as a teenager, I still love it. It gives a unique way of teaching kids about animals. It also helps kids learn how to help animals in their own backyards with letters from the "Animal Helpers". Zoboomafoo is a wonderful kids' show that is humorous and educational for them.

A Great Show for Children...
Jewels-5 June 2001
...and adults alike. Ok, I'll admit it: I watch Zoboomafoo! And I'm not ashamed of it. =) I stumbled across this show one afternoon when Montel was a repeat, and Rosie was a repeat and there was nothing else on. It's great! It's like "The Crocodile Hunter" for children. Lots of animals, goofy brothers who host the show, and a talking leemur as the mascot! Who wouldn't love this show? This one ranks right up there with "Sesame Street" and "The Muppets" from back in my day. (I'm only 18, but that's over-the-hill these days.) I highly recommed this show to everyone.

Me and You and Zoboomafoo! (spoilers)
becky-good28 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This show is excellent. You learn facts about animals. Zoboo is funny. Chris and Martin are too. Zoboo goes to Zobooland in the second segment. He sometimes meets Noggindrill or the Googleberry Monster in Zobooland. the Googleberry Monster likes Googleberries and Zoboo does too. I watch it on sprout on demand sometimes. There are some great Segments. Mystery Animal Segment, Zobooland, Going to the closet. In every episode the Kratt Brothers give Zoboo a snack. He always burps after his snack. He never talks until after his snack. His snack always comes out of this snack machine. This is a great show and you should really watch it!

Very well made for what it is.
GiraffeDoor8 April 2019
Oh gosh, I remember this show...I was just thinking about it the other day and now I'm coming across it here. Never made a mental note of the title because I rarely caught it for some reason but when I did I liked it.

I thought this was a pretty swell piece of edutainment. I still remember a lot of the animal trivia they taught us with its 3 charismatic but playful hosts (two humans and a surprisingly convincing lemur puppet).

They break up the live action parts with a stop-motion section about the puppet so the episode has variety.

I haven't seen this for over 10 years but if you want something animal related and informative you can watch with your smaller ones then this one would not be too excruciating. In fact, it's very charming.

Probably The Best Children's Show Out There
RiffRaffMcKinley20 January 2008
In a world full of obnoxious shows that teach our children nothing useful ("Dora" or "Spongebob Squarepants," for example), it is nice to know that one series still remains that corrects this mistake. As a child, I watched "Zoboomafoo" all the time. And even though I hate watching it today, I rate it a 10/10 because I recognize its validity, which cannot be said for a lot of kids' shows currently on TV. In every episode, the Kratt brothers introduce viewers to something new about the animal kingdom, filling them (hopefully) with a respect for their planet and the life forms therein. It also invites audience participation to a realistic degree (help guess the animal), as opposed to "Dora the Explorer" (clap your hands and we can save the prince!) "Zoboomafoo" is one of the greatest educational programs ever conceived, and deserves recognition. This should be the first thing any child ever sees on TV.

The poor kids can't spell the title!
Tsubahi1 January 2004
And neither can I! But I'm 32...soon to be 33.

I saw a few episodes and liked it. I love the leaping lemur's colorful animated sequences and the cartoons of mysterious lumps turning into cute animals! It's such a whimsical "Animal Planet" show for preschoolers where the grown brothers play around with all kinds of critters and run off into adventures with their camping equipment to explore the wilderness. It's a real romp in the vine-covered playroom indeed!

Zoboomafoo rules

Warning: Spoilers
I am 21 and I as well watch Zoboomafoo, actually it looks like more adults watch it than kids. I like Toothbrush the elephant, Moonface the barn owl, Popper the tiger, Chris and Martin (not Kratt brothers Chris and Martin, lion cubs Chris and Martin), and last but not least Zoboomafoo the leaping lemur.

cute show
goldfish_2113 July 2005
I used to watch it every day! That's a little embarrassing because I am 21 now, and this was only about a year or so ago. Anyway, all the animals are so cute and there are lots of interesting facts which make the show interesting for adults, even though it is aimed at children. I think my favorite part is when Zoboomafoo comes along and describes an animal that he's seen. I alway try to beat him to the punch and guess the animals before he finishes describing them and the little cartoon picture is complete of the animal. However, some things do get tedious for adults. I mean, how many times do you have to open a closet and have everything fall on your head before you either learn not to open it, or clean it up?

I love this show
gazpel13 December 2005
Although I preferred the clay-mation-less version "Kratt's Creatures", I still love watching this show. Perhaps it's because of the slight crushes I have on the Kratt's brothers, or maybe because of my love for animals, but either way, I get the best of both worlds on this show. I really wish the clay-mations would go though -- that's when I really feel like I'm watching a kids' show, and I kinda don't like being reminded. I still learn things about animals I never knew before, as would most adults watching, so if the cartoons weren't there, it'd probably have a wider audience..... those are just my two cents <:) I especially love the interaction between the brothers and the animals..... it's then that you really can see their passion for nature's creatures.
