The Ghostess with the Mostess is a fun and frisky ride from start to finish. Director Alex de Renzy delivers a comedic plot with a supernatural twist, creating a unique and playful adult film. While the premise is simple, the execution is impressive, with genuine laughs and likable characters.
The story follows Joey SIlvira, who, along with his family, moves into a new house, unaware of the horny ghostly residents. The setup is a clever device to initiate a plethora of sexual encounters, and de Renzy ensures the comedy and character development aren't lost amidst the steamy scenes.
The movie stands out for its ability to blend humor and eroticism seamlessly. The ghosts provide a creative outlet for imaginative and otherworldly sexual scenarios, and the actors embrace the concept with enthusiasm. The film doesn't take itself too seriously, and this light-hearted approach enhances its appeal.
A particular standout scene involves Joey and a ghostly vixen. Their encounter is passionate and intense, with a supernatural edge. The scene is a visual feast, with ethereal lighting and special effects enhancing the already electric chemistry between the characters. The ghost's translucent, shimmering form contrasts with Joey's human physique, creating a unique and captivating visual as their passion builds to a climactic finish.
While the film has many strengths, it doesn't reach the heights of de Renzy's best work. The plot, though entertaining, is somewhat basic, and the constant sex scenes may leave some viewers craving more depth in other areas. However, as a fun and light-hearted erotic comedy, it succeeds, offering a unique twist on the traditional adult film formula.

Cute comedy from de Renzy finds Joey SIlvira moving his family into a house that has two very horny ghosts. It's the most basic of plots to get the near non-stop sex from kicking off but unlike his later "Rex Borsky" tapes de Renzy does find lots of little moments that actually add to the characters and the comedy. It's far from de Renzy's best, and I think this kind of wall to wall sex comedy was better done by him in THE BIG THRILL, but as I said at the top, this one was cute but a bit by the numbers. It makes this one the type of film where nothing is really wrong with it, but there's nothing really exceptional either.
