When Sophie appears from behind the bus she tells Marnie that she followed them onto the bus, however when Marnie and Dylan sneak onto the bus, Dylan closes the door behind him as the bus moves off.

As the flying bus enters Halloweentown, the face of the giant Jack-o-lantern is facing away from City Hall, but after the children get off the bus (and for the rest of the movie), the face of the Jack-o-lantern is facing City Hall.

After Marnie has installed the talisman, we are given a glimpse of her where she is flipped. She had been resting on the giant pumpkin with her right leg hiked up and her right foot resting inside the pumpkin's left eye. But she is flipped, with her left leg hiked up and her left foot resting in the pumpkin's right eye.

When we first see the movie marquee in Halloweentown it says "Closed Forever" across the whole sign, but when Luke takes Marni into the the theater, you see that the sign has moved to just one side.

About 45 minutes in when all ate on the theatre they go down a ramp the get to the Shadow Man on the stage. Then the kids go out a door and down metal stairs when outside, but are now at street level. How is this possible unless there is a hill from the front of the building and goes down towards the back.

At the beginning of the movie, Marnie is said to be 13 years old. The plot of the movie depends on what Marnie must achieve before her 13th Halloween. But if she's 13 years old then she's already had her 13th Halloween (there's a full year before one's first birthday so your first Halloween, as well as any other date of the year, comes before your first birthday, so your thirteenth Halloween is the one before your 13th birthday).

Marnie states that she is 13 years old. The plot revolves around Marnie needing to begin her witch training before the end of her 13th Halloween. However, if Marnie is 13 then the present date would be her 14th Halloween, and not her 13th as stated by Grandma Aggie.

When the vampire gets her tooth pulled, you can clearly see the actors actual tooth painted black to look like a space.

It was painfully obvious how low the budget was for the first movie compared to the later movies when they are in Halloweentown. For the different creature effects (besides a few full body characters) most of the "creatures" just had a face mask while the rest of their body was humanoid. Some creatures you could even see the edge of where the face makeup ended and the actors real face began.

When Calabar shields his eyes from the light when the kids are leaving the theater, actor Robin Thomas' left wrist without makeup becomes visible.

In the beginning credits, it reads "Robin Thomas as Calabar", however in the sequel, his name is spelled "Kalabar".

Not sure if this was a mistake on the writers part or if they thought it would be better for the plot, but Kalabar's secretary is basically a human pin cushion. Which in the world of Halloweentown, doesn't really make sense. Halloweentown is mostly different creatures like witches, wizards, ghosts, werewolves, vampires, goblins, trolls, etc. But a human pin cushion just doesn't really fit. It was basically just making fun of the fact that the human pin cushion was the secretary.

On the October 5, 2001 airing, the actual end credits for this movie have been replaced with the one seen from its sequel Halloweentown 2 (2001), which will premiere the following week.

When the mother tells the kids to go to bed, we hear "...We'll be right up," but she appears to be saying "...I'll be right up."
