1960s Forever

Once, somebody would write the history of Yugoslav every-day-life in 1960s. He would use this serial like a source. It is hard to explain on this English spoken site what did this serial meant for my generation (born 1960-1963). When show was running on TV we were in the same age like characters from serial. It was cult. We knew dialogs by heart. Serial promoted extremely humorous Belgrade slang. I think it is comparable only to Paris and New York slang by its humor and vivid cynicism. The point is that serial was accepted in western parts of former Yugoslavia in spite of animosity towards Belgrade as capital because it dealt with universal teen-age problems.

It reminds us on the time and a country , that unfortunately, does not exist anymore.comprenhansible only for people from ex yugoslavia, even the values described here , are universal, i don't think it is interesting for western population, maybe only as a picture, how was the life in the communist country in the 1960"s .I saw this serie 10 times ,and it always provokes to me the same sweet -sad emotions.

Could be the most beautiful series ever made

Who would ever say that the most emotional TV series ever, was made in ex-YU/Serbia. It is local, very local, but shows an amazing time, growing up in a country/cjty/area where money was very low, on the list of life priorities. The series is nostalgic, beautiful, emotional and naivly amazing.

The best Serbian TV-Series by my opinion
mihvel5 September 2002
I think this is one of the best TV-series that I ever seen. Unfortunately, I think it will be interested only to people from ex-Yugoslavia. All episodes are connected in one story about life and growing of a Belgrade guy named Bane Zivkovic in period 1960-1970. The series has bitter-sweet taste, sometimes very funny but sometimes bitter and sad, just like real life is. There is also a very good movie (with very dark atmosphere) "Jagode u grlu" made 10 years after series, which terminates this story.
