Jonathan Ross hosts the first show in a brand new series, featuring celebrity guests, comedy, variety, music and chat. He is joined by the in-house band, Nick Plytas and Ecstasy. Tonight he welcomes actress Amanda Burton, Hollywood actor Donald Sutherland, singer-songwriter Martin Stephenson, and variety act The Loonies to the studio.

Jonathan's guests this week include filmmaker John Boorman, scandal survivor Mandy Rice-Davies, comedian Paul Merton, musical all-rounder Malcolm McLaren, and UK pop icon Ray Davies, who chats and performs two numbers: "Lola" and "Come Dancing".

Jonathan welcomes Eastenders star, Wendy Richard, to the show for a chat, along with singer-songwriter Julian Cope, who discusses his toy car collection. There is also music from jazz saxophonist Jamie Talbot and American soul star Anita Baker.

This week Jonathan is joined by satirist and comedian Peter Cook, who casually reveals that he is in fact Jonathan's father; wrestling star Mick McManus, and film director Alex Cox also pop in for a chat. There is also live music from British soul singer Paul Johnson.

Jonathan's guests include glamour model Maria Whittaker, actor Brian Dennehey, daring variety performer Stevie Starr, and actor/singer/drag legend Divine. Plus there's music from UK soul band Hot House.

Jonathan welcomes broadcaster Ned Sherrin and modelling agency proprietor Yvonne Paul to the studio for a chat. There is also live music from The King's Singers and The The's Matt Johnson, with support from the in-house band Nick Plytas and Ecstasy.

Jonathan's guests include Donny Osmond, who performs "Puppy Love" with the Braggford Brothers, who appear in the form of Billy Bragg and Hank Wangford. There's also chat with Eve Pollard and Lisa Sliwa.

Jonathan's guests include pop icon Boy George, Britain's most famous "madam" Cynthia Payne, and actor Timothy Spall, who gets a special treat in honour of his 30th birthday. There's also music from Ruby Turner.

Tonight Jonathan is joined by theatrical all-rounder Steven Berkoff; actress Tracy Camilla Johns, who stars in Spike Lee's film She's Gotta Have It (1986); and The Body Shop founder Anita Roddick. There is also live music from Christine Collister and Clive Gregson, along with a bit of Friday night plate spinning.

This week Jonathan says hello to Hollywood actress Teri Garr; broadcasting veteran Tony Blackburn pops in, as does photography archivist John Kobal. There is also live music from the UK group The Christians, with support from the in-house band Nick Plytas and Ecstasy.

Jonathan welcomes puppet master Frank Oz and pop sensations Bananarama to the show. Plus Terence Trent D'Arby performs a medley of songs by Sam Cooke.

Jonathan hosts a special episode celebrating the 1970s, where he chats with designer Vivienne Westwood, filmmaker Ken Russell, compares platform shoes with comedian Lenny Henry, and Gary Glitter provides the music, along with the in-house band.

Jonathan's guests include Lulu, Eric Idle, David Cassidy and Fanny Cradock. Plus live music from Lloyd Cole and the Commotions.

Joining Jonathan for a chat this week are Dawn French, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Terry Gilliam and Tom Jones, who also provides music and gets Jonathan involved in a sing-along. There's also stand up from Jeremy Hardy.

In the last episode of the series, Sean Connery pops in for a chat and is coaxed into playing remote control golfing carts with Jonathan. Jerry Hall is on hand to take Jonathan through some floor exercises, plus music from Emmylou Harris.
