DISCIPLES OF SHAOLIN TEMPLE is one of many films that came out in the wake of Jet Li's SHAOLIN TEMPLE, and indeed it looks almost identical to that film in many places. It's filmed in the Chinese mainland with an unknown cast, following the fortunes of a number of young Shaolin students as they contend with the temple's strict discipline while also tackling an outsider with devious designs on their abbott. As usual, the story is very limited here and the goofy humour is typical of the era, but it does feature a wealth of action. High-spirited and high energy for sure, while also making space for a skilled female combatant.
