A tastey snack of a movie.

Saw this one afternoon and it started of as typical US fair. A woman sees a murder and a cop is assigned to protect her at her home. Slowly they develop feeling for each other and they end up together in the end, after sorting out the killer etc.

Corben Benson plays the murderer but there is a nice little sub plot near the end.

What I liked most about this movie was that when the couple did kiss in the end the titles did n't come up. The movie continued for a few minutes showing the morning after. Quite often in these movies and indeed major movies as soon as people kiss the movies over and the viewer is left wondering what happens next.

This is the first Kym Huffman movie I have seen and she looked really sexy in the French maids outfit and the apron at the end. She played her scenes very well and worked well with Alex Carter.

All in all a nice movie and worth watching.

Thriller? Comedy? Romance? Loved the mix

Warning: Spoilers
I caught the movie while randomly seeking some entertainment as I was working on the computer. I finally found my self watching more of the movie than actually working.

*possible spoiler*

I must first say that I didn't know the movie came from an Harlequin book before I dropped on IMDb, so I had no expectation whatsoever regarding a possible romance. Although at some point it became obvious that something would eventually happen between the two characters.

*possible spoiler end*

I am unsure how I would categorize this movie between Thriller, Comedy and Romance since the three of those elements are very present from the very beginning up to the end.

Comedians are all great. I loved all of the characters, even the bad ones. Very well played and very credible.

Be assured, this is not another Whitney Houston's Bodyguard. While this might not be the movie of the year, it is one that I will surely want to see again sometime.

Made me smile

Warning: Spoilers
A charming watchable romance despite its plot flaws. The main one of those comes near the end when the neighbour kidnaps the girl. Why, I asked myself, as I mentally shook my head, having enjoyed the film to that point? Motive? He's a neighbour who goes in any time he wants already. How is kidnapping and putting her in the loft ever gonna work! Too much plot writing to formula - the story already worked without this predictable twist.

And the murder mystery had a tad too much farce about it in the directing. But I'm nit picking - never mind those. The film is principally a romance and it comes up trumps for a change. Two devilishly attractive people forced together by serendipity slowly fall in love. Real character development... Charming, wonderful stuff.

Very cute romance!

I wanted to see this movie because I'd read the book by Kristin Gabriel, and I'd liked it very much. While this movie adaptation was different in more than a few ways from the book, it had a similar sense of humor to it and I really quite liked it.

The two main leads (Kim Huffman and Alex Carter) were both well cast in this movie. Huffman plays a pretty caterer with a wholesome but lovely "girl next door" look to her. She's very likable and doesn't have that "self conscious of her beauty" attitude about her. She seemed very natural.

At first you think that Alex Carter is going to be playing one of those somewhat surly "brooding serious cop" types (like we haven't seen enough of *those* types), but instead his character has this dry wit and a smile (when he chooses to show it) that is dazzling. Both these actors make a great couple on screen!

The plot is kind of weak in some ways, but who cares? It's cute. It's funny. It isn't one of those dreary "relationship" movies where the characters don't have enough to do. This tale is full of action and humor. I laughed out loud quite a few times!

Now, granted, this is not up there with the great romantic comedies of all time. But of all the TV-movies based on a Harlequin Romance that I've seen, this is by *far* the best. If you didn't know it was based on a romantic novel, you might not even guess it. It's got action, adventure, mystery, the whole enchilada! And a cast full of eccentric and entertaining characters. Very enjoyable!

I guess I'm alone here

Normally I enjoy the Harlequin movies. This wasn't one I enjoyed.

Kim Huffman plays a caterer who, while helping out a friend (Lori Hallier), witnesses her murder and that of her boyfriend's at the hands of a prominent local personality (Corbin Bernsen). As soon as the fact that she's a witness is publicized, she's in danger and a police detective (Alex Carter) is assigned to her.

This was intended to be a mix of mystery, comedy, and drama, but due to poor direction, it doesn't come off. Though we aren't told this, there are actually two plots going on simultaneously, one which really had nothing to do with anything, so from the beginning, the audience is going in the wrong direction. When it's finally revealed that there is a second plot, it's easy to figure out.

Part of the problem, besides the direction, is a poor performance by Hugh Thompson as the neighbor. He's supposed to be shy, not mentally challenged.

It's a shame because this is a charming cast - besides Huffman, there is the rugged, handsome Carter and Corbin Bernsen.

The last five minutes or so of this film were pretty sexy, so I gave it a 3.

This was a fabulous love story. The actors/actresses in this movie were fabulous. They kept your attention through out the whole movie. I give it an A+++++ I only wish I could find a vhs copy of it to purchase.

Excellent Movie

Kim Hoffman played her part to perfection. This story was well written and the movie was acted well by all the cast. I found Hoffman charming, very attractive, and her character likeable. I would have liked to be the character played by Alex Carter in a real life story with her.
