“It Was Kind of a B*tch Move": Mike White Hits Back at 'The White Lotus' Composer's Criticisms
Image
The White LotusSeason 3 might be over, but it seems the drama didn't check out with the guests, with a bit of it now spilling over behind the scenes. Mere days before the finale aired, Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, the brain behind the viral, earworm theme music that became Seasons 1 and 2 signature, announced his exit, confessing that he intentionally timed it “for the shock and whatever.” Citing creative differences, the Emmy-winning composer revealed that he informed every crew member except Mike White, leaving the show creator in the dark until he eventually found out. White has now responded, offering his take on the situation and firing back at the composer's dramatic exit.

"I honestly don’t know what happened, except now I’m reading his interviews because he decides to do some PR campaign about him leaving the show," White began when asked about the composer's exit in his SiriusXM interview with Howard Stern.

Howard Stern And Jerry Springer's Relationship
Image
Jerry Springer and Howard Stern were both controversial media icons in the 1990s. At one point, the former nearly made Oprah Winfrey quit TV because of his "vulgar" show. So it made sense that he got along with the multimillionaire shock jock. The Howard Stern Show had always welcomed Jerry.

Howard even got Jerry to spill the tea on his "trash" reality TV show, which was sued for the deaths of two former guests. The latter also came clean on the former's radio show about the real reason he publicly admitted to soliciting a prostitute during his political days. Here's a closer look at Jerry and Howard's friendship.

Livewire Wasn't Quite the Harley Quinn Superman: The Animated Series Needed
Image
Welcome to the 175th edition of Adventure(s) Time, where we examine beloved animated series and their comic cousins. This week, the debut of the villainess who, in some parallel world, became Superman's Harley Quinn. Just not this world. And if you have any suggestions for the future, let me hear them. Just contact me on Twitter.

Debuting on September 13, 1997, "Livewire" comes from Superman: The Animated Series' second season, courtesy of writers Evan Dorkin & Sarah Dyer and director Curt Geda. Arguably, creating new characters wasn't a huge concern for the producers of Superman, just as their earlier priorities on Batman: The Animated Series focused more on adapting the classic cast members than creating new friends and foes.

Still, Batman introduced fans to Renee Montoya and Harley Quinn, which is certainly a respectable pedigree, and Superman's debut season brought us Mercy Graves, Lex Luthor's loyal (and lethal) assistant. "Livewire," originally...

Howard Stern Noticed A Certain Topic Of Conversation Made Guest Michael Che Uncomfortable
Image
Saturday Night Live has been a source of comedic talent for generations upon generations. The famous sketch comedy show has been a go-to for the latest, most promising comedic actors and writers. It has introduced famous actors such as Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, and Tina Fey.

However, the show is about to enter its landmark 50th season and rumors of creator Lorne Michaels' future are running rampant.

This was a topic Howard Stern asked Michael Che and Colin Jost about when they were guests on his show. The dynamic duo have been writers and performers on SNL for over ten years. It was during their interview that Jost and Stern realized a particular topic of discussion made Che very uncomfortable.

Fans Saw A Completely Different Side Of Aubrey Plaza During Her Howard Stern Interview
Image
Aubrey Plaza just made her debut on The Howard Stern Show, and fans can't stop talking about her unusual demeanor. Even the host was reportedly thrown off behind the scenes. Howard Stern, like most fans, was expecting the "awkward queen" to grace the show. But either the actress wasn't in the mood or the host just didn't know how to handle his guest's personality, like Stephen Colbert's "intimate moment" with Plaza.

While The White Lotus alum shared shocking details about her stroke when she was 20, Stern seemed more interested in her new project with Francis Ford Coppola, Megalopolis. Unfortunately, Plaza wasn't feeling the topic. Here's why the multimillionaire radio host felt like "pulling teeth" during the interview.

Stephen Colbert Kept Cool After Howard Stern Harshly Asked About CBS' Plan To Replace Him With James Corden
Image
Stephen Colbert has been praised for his respectful conduct toward female guests. Although there was that time he made Serena Williams uncomfortable after toasting against her religion, The Late Show host has established himself as the complete opposite of his pal, Howard Stern. So when Stephen came on the latter's show in 2018, fans were curious how he'd respond to the host's shock value questions.

Howard didn't hold back on grilling Stephen. The Sirius Xm broadcaster immediately asked the late-night star about his ratings. It then led to him bringing up rumors that The Late Late Show's James Corden was replacing the David Letterman successor. But Stephen didn't give in to the bait. James apparently CBS' most unpopular late show host had also denied the speculations, two years before the interview. Here's what happened between the three.

"Are You Kidding Me?": Original Galadriel's Cate Blanchett Reflects On Low Pay For Lord Of The Rings Movies
Image
Cate Blanchett reveals that she was paid very little for playing Galadriel in Lord of the Rings, including no backend pay based on box office. Blanchett took the role because she wanted to work with Peter Jackson. The Lord of the Rings cast featured mostly unknown actors at the time, meaning most didn't command high movie-star salaries.

Lord of the Rings star Cate Blanchett recalls her low salary for appearing in Peter Jackson's beloved trilogy. Based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien, the first installment in Jackson's trilogy was released in 2001, introducing audiences to Elijah Wood's Frodo as he embarks on an epic quest to destroy the One Ring. The Lord of the Rings cast includes a host of talented actors, with Blanchett playing a memorable role as Elven queen Galadriel during The Fellowship of the Ring's Lothlrien sequence, a character she would revisit in the latter...

Goodbye to Richard Simmons, the Og Influencer
Image
Over the past few years, with the rise of the social-media marketing ecosystem, the word “authenticity” has been increasingly integrated into the pop culture consciousness. As used by brands in pitch meetings and slide decks, it’s an ineffable commodity possessed by a rarified few in the creator space who seem to start trends, rather than follow them. According to brands, it’s the reason why followers connect with certain influencers — not, as one would otherwise suspect, because of their predilection for posting bikini photos or selfies with rappers and NHL players.

“If they offered me that kind of money… I’d take it”: Ashton Kutcher Wanted to be Paid Just as Much as Charlie Sheen’s Whopping Per Episode Two and a Half Men Salary
Image
Chuck Lorre’s Two and a Half Men is aptly known to be one of the best sitcoms to have ever been released. However, a majority of the credit goes to none other than Charlie Sheen, who formed the life of the show.

Playing the role of the frisky talented drunk who was forced into taking in his brother Alan Harper and his son Jake Harper into his home, Sheen was inarguably the one Usp of the show, for nine brilliant seasons. He was eventually replaced after an epic falling out with Lorre and company, and replaced in the 9th season by Ashton Kutcher.

Post Malone Covers Alice in Chains’ “Them Bones” on Howard Stern: Watch
Image
Post Malone appeared on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday, and while he was there, he delivered a stirring acoustic rendition of Alice in Chains’ signature hit, “Them Bones.” Watch the performance below.

Introducing it by saying “Hey, Howard, hopefully I don’t fuck these lyrics up,” Post began his take on the song, playing guitarist Jerry Cantrell’s signature chromatic riff on a beefy acoustic guitar, as he was backed by a choir. Building tension through the opening verse, the arrangement blossomed on the first chorus when the drum line dropped and Post belted the iconic “Ah’s” originally delivered by Alice’s Layne Staley.

By the end of the song, Post was able to build enough energy with his gravelly croon that it’s easy to forget that you’re listening to an acoustic version of the grunge anthem. He finished it off with a final a cappella “Ah,...

The Hives Dust Off “Hate to Say I Told You So” on Howard Stern: Watch
Image
The Hives appeared on The Howard Stern Show this week. Though the band are getting ready to share upcoming new album The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, they dug up their 2000 single “Hate to Say I Told You So” for this performance.

“This song is the song that broke us through on a global scale,” vocalist Howlin’ Pelle said while introducing the track, his Swedish accent on full display. The garage rock crew, all decked out in their classic lighting-bolt suits, began the song with the same fiery energy they had back in the early 2000s.

“Feel free to appreciate the precision and power of bass player The Johan and Only, playing this song which has aged like a fine wine,” Pelle ad-libbed over the song’s midpoint bass break. “The Hives have become old, wise souls trapped in young, sexy bodies. And so has their music.”

Sure seems like they’re stoked to be back!

Nick Cannon surprised his fans by announcing his ninth child – a first with a new baby mama, Lanisha Cole.

Unlike some of his other baby mothers, the Masked Singer host did not reveal Cole, 40, was pregnant with his child before she gave birth.

The 41-year-old appears to have had at least three women pregnant at the same time this year.

In July, he welcomed his first child with realtor Bre Tiesi and is reportedly expecting his 10th child with Abby De La Rosa in October and 11th with Brittany Bell.

It was just last year when Cannon pledged to be celibate after his therapist advised him to “chill out,” but admitted he didn’t make it to 2022 during an appearance on the podcast Lip Service with Angela Yee.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in The Simple Life (2003)
E! Entertainment Television is set to announce today a slate of new series and specials, including an unscripted show centering on the real-life drama of singers Nick and Aaron Carter and their sisters. Also on the slate are new series examining the seven deadly sins from a Hollywood point of view and a countdown of the sexiest celebrities. The new shows will join a schedule that includes the next installment of The Simple Life as well as returning series The Girls Next Door, among others. E! Clear Channel agrees to $1.75 million FCC fine
Howard Stern in Howard Stern (1994)
WASHINGTON -- The FCC reached a record settlement with the nation's largest and most powerful radio station company this week when Clear Channel Communications agreed to pay nearly $1.75 million to settle a number of complaints for indecency on the public airwaves. The settlement is the largest ever negotiated between the FCC and a broadcaster. All the penalties proposed by the agency for sexually explicit remarks made during an April 2003 broadcast of The Howard Stern Show and all outstanding listener complaints lodged against Clear Channel, including dozens of cases that haven't even been reviewed yet, are included in the agreement, according to a statement issued Wednesday by FCC chairman Michael Powell. "Clear Channel has now formally admitted that it violated the law and has made binding commitments to clean up its act, including preventive programming decisions and the use of time delays in its broadcasts," Powell said.

FCC issues Stern fines against Clear Channel
WASHINGTON -- In its continuing fight to clean up the airwaves, the nation's broadcast police announced last week its intention to levy one of the largest fines ever on Clear Channel Communications for a broadcast of The Howard Stern Show. On a 5-0 vote Thursday, the FCC issued a "notice of apparent liability" in which it proposed fining the station group $495,000 for an April 9, 2003, broadcast in which Stern and two guests discussed a product called "Sphincterine", which is designed to get rid of "swamp ass." As a result of the fine, Clear Channel fired Stern on Thursday, making permanent the suspension it issued earlier this year. In a statement posted on his Web site www.howardstern.com, Stern said the action is part of a "McCarthy-type witch hunt" that was being led by the Bush administration and "this group of presidential appointees in the FCC, led by Colin Powell' Jr.' " FCC chairman Michael Powell is the secretary of state's son.
