very much alive!
Flup-218 November 1999
Never a dull moment in this picture. Louise wants to get everything out of life. She spends most of her day cruising Paris and its metro network in the company of her pickpocket friends, a young boy who ought to be at school, and a homeless poetic guy who is in love with her. Her rather naive and dreamy view of life clashes with the rough life on the street but she would not want to miss it, because this is 'la grande vie' that her novelist father writes about.

A very poetic movie about today's youth
jf-84 February 1999
This movie tells the story of Louise and her friends in Paris. They spend their time in the metro, playing, loving and breaking the laws. The meeting between Louise and a young boy will bring some "romance" in their violent world. Elodie Bouchez brings her lovely smile in a movie about today's youth, about people living on the edge of the society, in the oppressive but poetic world of Paris'metro.

This is one of the most beautiful, most genuine, most sincere films I ever saw.

You are so incredibly talented, and at the same time, such a beautiful and amazing person, Sig

It seems my comment doesn't contain enough lines

So I will just repeat

this is one of the most beautiful, most genuine, most sincere films I ever saw.

Just like you are one of those people. Sig

It is one of the most unpretentious, and, at the same time, most exquisite films I ever saw...

Just like you are one of those people, Sig.

beautiful in every way

This is an incrediblly beautiful french Movie. Its a story about a group of young people and about their search for freedom and love and the conventions which keep them away from attaining these highest off all human goods. Conventions that both are part of the society they live in and the mere constitution of their own souls. I just love the shaky camera and smooth urban/hip-hop/Jazz soundtrack. The actors play their roles with such a realistic perfection that you actually think you're wondering with them through the streets of Paris. The Plot is more of a secondary importance. this movie is more about the poetic images and the down to life dialogs and has more the aspect of a short glimpse into the lives of its characters than of an exactly scripted story. Because this movie tries to show life trough the lens of a handy-cam and life is not scripted like a big Hollywood production.

why 10

the director film is one of the few which show the real life, near of the people, the problems that politics, media and all which are comfortable sitting in their office , don't want to see. A film out of traditional systems, in all the point of view: directory, theme of the underground...A positive, constructive person, for the life, again the death and not auto-destructive. A romantic person, which use very well the provocation in order to make us move...like Prévert, Italo Calvino... We need it so much...
