K.Balachander is the best director of Tamil films no doubt... but this film is a real surprise from him! this movie differs much from other films! Jaishanker who plays the part of college professor was being accused by three girls, two were his students and third by his neighbor, for different reasons but with same note that he has sexually harassed them, just before his marriage! his fiancée played by Lakshmi sets out to investigate along with some of his dutiful students. what went wrong! a rare intelligent black and white suspense movie...holding as tight right to the end with great cinematography and enthralling dialogs! this is definitely K.Balachander's master piece!

amazing screenplay and direction...

I saw this movie in 2008 and never expected such a wonderful movie in 1971..

way above 2008..

normal drama with suspense element and tight till the end..

though you know hero wins at the end, the screenplay was tight enough that u will think, how innocent hero gets out of it..

Best part in the movie was it is not hero-centric. wow.. every character has importance and plays its part.

Innocent, decent, dignified professor was arrested by police following the complaint of sexual harassment of his fellow student. When investigating 2 more gals revel about professor's sexual harassment..

Professor was cornered. his fiancée and his few of his students helps to solve the mystery.

Mindblowing thought and execution... very hard to believe that movie was shot in 1970 and released in 1971..

that too 3 point of view on single new yr night event was brilliant..

bravo..
