another skin-e-max softcore title
bracham9 March 2006
This movie has a plethora of gorgeous women engaging in soft-core pornography acts. The plot is stupid. The acting is terrible. This is solely made for the enjoyment of middle-school boys who sneak downstairs at midnight to watch "skin-e-max".

If you like to see pretty women in the nude doing fake sexual acts this is your movie. If your looking for a good movie go elsewhere.

Please take my advice and invest your time in watching something worthwhile. I know its a horrible feeling to not have anything to watch at 12 am, but at least tune in to Adult Swim instead of watching this junk.

I'm barely able to watch you, movie. You're kinda mediocre.

Warning: Spoilers
This movie isn't that good. It sure isn't like Alfred Hitchcock's 1954's hit, Rear Window. It's not even in the same level as Michael Powell's 1960's movie, 'Peeping Tom' or Brian De Palma's 1984's Body Double. This film is scrapping the bottom of the barrel of creepy peep show movies. Still, it wasn't too bad, for the genre, it was in. It was better than other soft-core voyeurism pornos such as 2002's Watchful Eye. The film is about a young woman, Laura (Lori Dawn Messuri) whom moves into an artist building complex to house-sit for a wealthy artist. While, there, the painfully shy and repressed aspiring artist meets her free-spirited neighbor and model, Alisha (Jaqueline Lovell), who opens her creative side, by drawing her into the erotic dangers of Bohemian peep show with her neighbors. Odd to see a movie where the women were mostly the Peeping Toms. Unfortunately, the temptations of voyeurism become too dark for her, as Laura notice one of her neighbor being murdered. The movie tries really hard to write in a plot of murder and mystery; but it isn't that well delivered, when the movie pacing constant stop for a sex scene or random nudity. One minute, the main characters feels scare after seeing the murder, the next scene, they're laughing off with their friend, trying on, different types of dresses. Without spoiling who is the killer; the list of suspects are very thin, and the movie tries hard to be clever to hide, 'who da it'. Still, in a logical sense, it seem pretty predictable, who it is, as the others don't add up to the crime. No one who watches this film will give a care in the world about any of that, anyways. I think most people that will watch this film, is looking forward to all frontal nudity that these beautiful ladies give. I have to say, Lori Dawn Messuri is really attractive. She had an amazing body that goes with her good looks. Plus, I love her redheads, so much. I can't say, her talent for acting was great. It was alright for the most part. The same does with Jacqueline Lovell, whom can't act, worth a damn in this film. She's spent, most of her time on screen, taking off her clothes or having sex to distract the audience from her really bad acting. She seems to have a general disdain for all manner of clothing. I guess, even the actress got sick of it. She dump the Sarah St. James persona, a few years later, and stop appearing in many erotic soft core film. I guess, she didn't want to be in a movie where there's a sex scene every 15 minutes. Anyways, she just as attractive as Lori Dawn Messuri. The sex scene between them was really sexy. I like that, the lesbian or bi angle was honestly had some plotting build to it, rather than it's just randomly happening. The dialogue is far and in between the sex scenes. Some of it, doesn't even makes sense. 'He makes Howard Hughes seem like RuPaul' quotes Alisha in one scene. What? Does he like to dress in drag? You never see that. The dialogue is so amateur, that it's sound like a kid, wrote it. 'Be there, or be square', quotes Alisha. Wow- how childish lame. The movie dialogue is also very choppy; so choppy that it makes both Laura and Alisha seem bi-polar. I like how Laura get turns on, talking dirty on the phone with an unknown caller or get naked near the window, but gets really angry when she find out, that somebody was indeed, watching it. The same with Alisha, who really such an open nymph, who even admit to it, but later in the film, hates to call out on it. It's really bad accidentally conflicted. By far, the worst actress in this film had to be, Vanessa Blair as Erika. She lacks both attractiveness and the skill of acting. She looks like she's stuck in the 1980s, with a monstrous tease and fried hairstyle that should make her cringe with embarrassment. Trying not to be mean, but she looks like a female John Kerry with her huge jaw line. The men in the film such as Warren (Adoni Maropis) & Edward (Marc Robinson) were alright for the most part. It was nice to see, most of the men in the film, acting respectful, rather a horny & annoying jerks. The sex scenes weren't anything special. You got a few boy/girls scenes, solo masturbates scenes, a nude girl dancing with a gun scene, a mild S& M moment and one lesbian scene. None of them were really that graphic due to the great use of shadows and fading in & out. Still, it did get kinda frustrating, when the camera did that. The camera itself, look like it was falling asleep, with all the fades out. The music that goes with this film was alright in the most part. Some of it, sounds like really bad elevator or waiting room music. The suspense music was a bit better. Still, the song 'Somebody watching you' was a bit, too much. Another thing about the film is the lack of art. For an art film, it doesn't show many art, being created nor do they go into the details of how art works. For an erotic piece, it does kinda work. For a mystery-murder film, it just doesn't. Overall: If you need a movie to get your kicks off. It's alright, but if you're looking for story. Don't watch.

It Ain't Bird-Watching

In a moody and noir-like story of love and murder, we follow the sexual education of a young innocent plunged into the Bohemian world of artists' lofts. Sounds like the company line, eh? Actually what we have in "I'm Watching You" is a well-paced "erotic thriller" with a fine balance of nudity and plot, an attractive cast, and an evocative sound-track

The lively and uninhibited Jacqueline Lovell plays the painter's model, Alisha, who never misses an opportunity to shimmy out of her dress or join in an energetic romp with the handsome young artist. With Alisha as her role model and guide, and through the urging of a stranger on the phone, Laura evolves from innocent girl to wanton woman (even if she has to struggle with lines like "I guess it was the way I was raised. Pleasure is evil.it's a sin.." to emphasize her innocence) And we become watchers too, watching Laura as she indulges in a bit of exhibitionism at the window of her loft and finally progresses to masturbating while the mysterious stranger listens on the phone.

And fortunately, because this movie follows the unwritten rules of "erotic thrillers", the next stage of Laura's sexual education is a girls' night out, complete with lingerie modeling, dancing, and finally the seduction of Laura by Alisha

We also have two very torrid scenes with the manipulative wife of the artist (played by Vanessa Blair) and her infidelity with the artist's agent, with some mild S & M moments making the mercury rise in Laura's thermometer as she watches from her window.

All of which leads me to the innocent heroine, played by Lori Dawn. The IMDB lists only one other film, also made in 1997, with her in the cast. It's a Kira Reed vehicle called "Madame Savant", which unfortunately hasn't entered my late-night cable circuit. Perhaps it's a personal preference for pretty redheads, but I couldn't take my eyes off Lori throughout this movie. And of course my natural reaction is to want to see more; why else do we assemble around the flickering altar late at night? I know the adult movie business is unstable, actresses come and go (literally), appear under new names, get out of the business and marry wealthy producers, get out of the business and marry broke saxophone players, and so on. But it's a real disappointment when a face and form of such promise simply vanishes. Any recent sightings from you watchers out there?

Certainly not for the kids

This movie probably deserved an NC-17 rather than the R rating it received. Not much is hidden. No male nudity beyond bare butt, but the women are all full frontal, frequently with labia shown. Little plot, but there is nudity every few minutes. If you're here for the story you're in the wrong place, but if you like naked women, including female masturbation and seeing the whole woman, you're in the right place.

No plot, but does it matter?
JBoze31312 November 2000
Like every other movie released by any company even remotely related to Playboy Video, you can rest assured that the film you are about to (or just have) watch(ed) has little to no plot, but luckily it usually will have a cast full of gorgeous women. This movie is no exception. They try to write in a plot of murder and mystery, but no one who watches this film will give a care in the world about any of that nonsense. I'm guessing anyone who rents or buys this movie will do so for the sheer pleasure of seeing beautiful women, who are, in most scenes very nude. The sex scenes in the movie are fairly good, with nice shots of Sara St. James, listed in this film as Jaqueline Lovell. She is definitely the one to watch here, even tho the other female lead is beautiful too.

The film is about a young shy female artist named Laura who moves into an artist colony (go figure) and meets Lovell's character, Alisha, who is a nude model for one of the artists living in the colony. Laura wants to concentrate on her work, but Alisha just wants to take off her clothes...ALL of the time. She's an exhibitionist, she admits, and she loves it. It turns out, Laura isn't so shy when she starts talking dirty on the phone with an unknown caller. Don't ask me who would get nasty on the phone with someone they don't know for no reason, but she did it anyhow. The film progresses into some small sembelance of a plot, and the writer tried to add some murder and mystery in here, as I said. It comes off as well as it possibly could in a movie like this. The dialogue is far and in between, and the film is mainly just sex scene after sex scene after sex scene. Alisha stripping for the artist, Alisha having sex with the artist, Alisha stripping for Laura, Alisha having sex with Laura. It's an erotic thriller, what do you expect? All I say is you can't go wrong with Sara St. James. 6/10

Here Comes The Dawn
monsters from the id27 January 2000
I'm not sure if this falls into the category of compulsive fan but I thought that I'd add an update on this delicious redhead.

A recent issue of "Femme Fatales" (quite a resource for late-night cable viewers) has an interview and an update on LoriDawn Messuri (there's also a few uninspired photographs and one very beguiling shot of a naked LoriDawn).

The update is a movie called "Cruising Purgatory", with LoriDawn playing a stripper with bad dreams. A promising idea but don't expect this to show up at your local multiplex. Probably a straight-to-video release and, unless your local cable programmer is either very hip or also a fan, it may be a while before this shows up on the airwaves.
