A very poor rating and I personally find little fault with the opinions expressed.

After Dien Bien Phu,French soldiers are ordered to withdraw;but our heroes are caught in a(historically accurate) ambush ,and ,prisoners of the Vietminh,taken to a re-education camp .Their wardens want them to be born again,to become true men,that is to say commies.This part of the movie should have been the most interesting but it's a spate of clichés:one can only save the scene when Daniel Ceccaldi answers to his "teacher" in such an intellectual way nobody (including the viewer) understands .
The ending of the novel was sweetened .Not one of Aznavour's best roles and however the part was tailor made for him!Music by his collaborator Georges Gavarentz ,including a martial anthem which does not compare favorably with that of "Un taxi Pour Tobrouk".
