This movie sucks, one of the worst movie I've ever seen.

Warning: Spoilers
I've seen this movie, and it's very bad. Good to be added to my trash movie list.

In first 20 minutes I said it's OK, but then the plots came stupid, and more stupider. Place setting is beautiful, but it's only the place. Do you think an elephant can think as human like ? It's impossible, of course. But this movie makes it was possible !

Scenes were quite bad, too. When the elephant fallen into the trap, seems it's easy to pull it, but the scene hidden. While it have to be moved to cart, then seemed very hard and difficult.

Casts were very bad, and it's dubbed. It's dubbed to British English. Just waste of my time.

...just plain weird..

The only reason i ever saw this movie was because I knew the guy who played "Charles". If you see the movie..that's not his real voice, it's a British voiced dubbed in. I think i fell asleep 20 mins into this movie. It's not very exciting. It's not very good either.

Good Family Entertainment

Ele, My Friend is a wonderful film that you can watch with the entire family and if you like elephants it is good for any age! The film tells the story of a young British boy that becomes friends with a young elephant in the wild and what happens when the elephant is captured by poachers and the boy has to rescue it. The elephant scenes are beautifully filmed. The story takes place in India during the British Raj and it is a glimpse of what life must have been like during that time for the British as well as the Indian people. With all of the problems that elephants are facing in the wild in India as well as Africa, Ele, My Friend is a good reminder of how unique and important these creatures are!

Sensitive and action-filled
blaircastle-118 December 2008
This movie is great for kids and the whole family. It is a sensitive movie that illustrates the strong bond between animals and people (in this case the elephant).

It is not an action film, but has plenty of action. Filmed in location in India. The photography was very beautiful and you could tell that the director/writer was familiar with the countryside. The elephants came very close to the people and sometimes the star rode one of the elephants.

The group of thieves seemed authentic too especially the main thief. I can tell by the names listed that they used Indians for the Indian roles so it seemed like you were right there.

I Love Elephants!
wwrain22 June 2007
I really love elephants and this movie was fun for me to watch with my young children who love elephants too. There are a few "scary" parts for young children and I did see them cry a few times, but other than that they really were captivated. Parts of the movie are slow in the beginning but then it picks up and moves at a quick pace. It does not have all the special effects that big Hollywood movies have but it is a good story that does not need gimmicks to carry the it. The film shows the parallel emotions of elephants and humans and science is now proving that to be true. Elephants have very similar brain development as humans and their family bonds are extremely strong. Request this from Netflixs as it is hard to find.
