The weather forecast is for forty days of rain, so the animals of the jungle build an ark. When the skies clear, the sun puts away his umbrella and leads the audience in singing "It Ain't Gonna Rain No More" in this lively Famous Studios Screen Song.
Izzy Sparber's contributions to the Famous Studios Screen Songs were the better batch. While fellow director Seymour Kneitel liked to offer a series of blackout gags before going into the song, Sparber used a story line to pace the gags, which are sharper for the structure.
Interestingly, the censors got into the act, since the chorus line "How in the heck can I wash my neck?" is replaced with "How in the world can the old folks tell?" Still, the jokes offered in the verses are funny in a mildly hayseed way. Although not a patch on the Fleischer pre-Code Screen Songs, this one is a lot of fun.
