Upon discovering his wife Vanessa (Elizabeth Hurley) is a 'fembot' a cyborg created by his adversary, the villainous terrorist Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) to assassinate him. British spy, womanizer and photographer Austin Powers (Mike Myers) is assigned by his boss Basil Exposition (Michael York) for a photoshoot. After the photoshoot, Austin learns Russian model Ivana Humpalot (Kristen Johnston) is an assassin hired by Dr. Evil to kill him, but refuses and Austin has sex with her. But, in the middle of their sex session, Austin is horrified when he realizes his 'Mojo' (body fluid that attracts the opposite sex) is gone. Austin and Basil soon learn Dr. Evil has travelled back 30 years in time and has hired the grotesque obese rogue Scottish agent Fat Bastard (Mike Myers) to remove Austin's mojo from his frozen body and stole it. Austin travels back in time and follows Dr. Evil to 1969. Teamed with the sexy American spy Felicity Shagwell (Heather Graham) whom has been assigned to protect Austin. Austin sets out to retrieve his stole Mojo. But, Austin and Felicity both soon learn that there is more at stake and that Dr. Evil has constructed a deadly laser cannon on the moon's surface and he plots to use it to wipe out Washington DC if the American President (Tim Robbins) refuses to pay him $1 billion dollars. With Washington DC under threat, Austin and Felicity track Dr. Evil down to his secret base on a volcanic island and they set out to stop Dr. Evil and save Washington DC from total destruction.
According to an alternate ending to the first movie, it is said that Number Two survived falling in the fire, but was "very badly burned". Hence the scar on his face.
