She'll clean up the city while he messes up the house

Warning: Spoilers
A very funny political spoof that could have been expanded as a feature (with more of an A list cast) where the husband (Hugh Herbert) of a political candidate for mayor (Isabel Withers) deals with a gangster's moll posing as a reporter, trying to distract Herbert so her boyfriend can break into Withers' safe. This leads to a load of slapstick when Withers arrives home unexpectedly, lots of running around to and from different rooms, and the house being practically destroyed. A few changes in the script, with Grant and Loy in the leads, and this could have been a gem of a screwball comedy with post war themes. Christine McIntyre is very funny as the moll, stealing the short away from veteran comic Herbert.
