Hasmukh Pighal Gaya is the name of Sanjay Dutt's home production, for which more than 100 people auditioned. And the 'chosen one' (quite literally) was Arrmaan Ralhan, who happens to be the grandson of veteran filmmaker Op Ralhan (whose Phool Aur Patthar made Dharmendra an overnight star). All it took was a mere 30 seconds of Arrmaan's audition for Sanjay Dutt to decide on Hasmukh, the film's protagonist. Meanwhile, Arrmaan, who has a degree in digital filmmaking from New York Film Academy, has attended acting workshops and has trained in dance and hardcore action for his big break. Talking about Arrmaan, producer Maanayata Dutt said, "Arrmaan considers his grandfather Ralhan sahab an inspiration. When he auditioned for us we could immediately visualize him in the film and it seemed like a perfect fit". Arrmaan has already started shooting for the Sejal Shah directed Hasmukh Pighal Gaya, which is scheduled for a September release.

Click above for more on the sets stills Arjun Rampal who turned a year older on 26/11 isn't quite sure whether director Madhur Bhandarkar planned it. But when he reached the set for the first day of shooting for Heroine, Arjun was told that it's his character's birthday and that he would be doing a cake-cutting sequence with his co-star Kareena Kapoor. According to a source, Arjun plays an on-the-rise actor who latches on to the top actress of the day. Any resemblance to the equation that Dharmendra shared with Meena Kumari when they did films like Phool Aur Patthar, Kajal, Purnima, Bharaon Ki Manzil Chandan Ka Palna and Majhli Didi together is purely coincidental. The birthday sequence that Bhandarkar shot for Arjun's character fell on Arjun's birthday. Filmy folklore has it that Meena Kumari celebrated Dharmendra's birthday on the sets of one of their films together and even insisted...

A younger hero opposite an older heroine seems to be the latest casting fad in Bollywood! While we have seen such chemistry in hit films like Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi in 1996, where Akshay Kumar and Rekha ignited hormones with their saucy scenes, or even tracing back to 1966, with Phool Aur Patthar, where Dharmendra and Meena Kumari set the screen on fire, this trend seems to be knocking on the doors of Bollywood yet again.
