Scuzzy exploitation rarity

Warning: Spoilers
A GOOD TIME WITH A BAD GIRL is one of those cheap and scuzzy exploitation movies, unearthed from the vaults by Something Weird. The version I saw on Amazon Prime clocked in at 40 minutes and had none of the nudity mentioned by other reviewers on this site. The story sees the usual middle-aged fantasies play out with a visit to Las Vegas followed by meetings and romance with a showgirl. There's a once-controversial lesbian scene, some minor narration, and lots of stilted, stuffy acting.

pretty dull

"Groovy". Prolific crap-movie director Barry Mahon directs this mind-bogglingly sleazy and dumb epic. It's sort of a shitty version of LOLITA with a middle-aged man having an affair with a 17 year old girl. Except later on in the movie we learn that he can't get it up. So I'm not sure how he had an affair. I mean did they just "smooch"? Well whatever. It starts off with an ass and some tits shaking for us all and then goes downhill pretty quickly. Probably the most boring nudie-cutie movie I've seen yet. Contains lots of stock footage of Las Vegas inserted and a main character who is a complete douche-bag square. I mean he has a chance to get wild in a bathroom with some 60's trollop and he turns that down, this young totally immoral thing is all over him and he apparently can't seal that deal. Just a typical 1960's square man! It took me 3 attempts before I could get through the whole thing and it's only an hour long! Can't recommend this unless you are really into watching vintage vibrators do their stuff.

Barry!

Warning: Spoilers
There are moments in A Good Time with a Bad Girl where you'd be fooled into thinking that Barry Mahon is eschewing the typical nudie cutie movies that he always makes - when he isn't making roughies - and filming something really personal: the idea that when a middle-aged man finally goes through with the affair he always wanted with a teenage girl that real life can't mentally or physically live up to his fantasy.

Then there's a really long sequence where a girl gets a backrub with that kind of 1960's massage device that looks like a laser gun.

A millionaire falls for a girl with no morals - she's the one getting the massage we mentioned above - but all she does is giggle, say groovy and read comic books. Other than being much younger than his wife, it's hard to see the obsession. That said, perhaps that's exactly the point this movie makes in spite of itself.

Oh yeah, one more time about that massage. That's John Beck as the cowboy. He was in Rollerball, Sleeper and Audrey Rose.

I would never recommend that anyone watch this movie, but I certainly wouldn't tell you to miss it. I'm weird that way.

Good time with a bad movie

What can I say, if your taking the time to look up information on sleaze like this, you obviously have something wrong. But I'd be doing same thing, so allow me to tell you of this little diddy. Begining with the shot of a topless womens chest as she dances to jazz music, GOOD TIMES WITH A BAD GIRL goes down hill, (or uphill depending on your point of view) from that point on.

A middle aged business man takes a trip Las Vegas, and promptly shacks up a vivacious young girl. They get in the hot tub, sleep together, and go to a swinging party. What more can you want? A plot, good acting, syncronized dialogue? Well your not going to get it here!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST!

This late 1960's exploitation film is REALLY the bottom of the barrel. The main plot was a good idea for this type of flick, but the results are unbearably boring and painful to watch. The entire film is post-dubbed which is not that unusual, but the sound and picture quality are abysmal and the "performances" are not up to snuff, even with this genre of film.

The lead girl is particularly horrifying. The tormented despairing souls in this do not deserve empathy or the mind-crushing symbolism hinted at by the narration of the main guy. Set in Las Vegas, you get a few nice shots of "old" Vegas, but there's nothing to recommend this tripe. Spam-tasting monotony that wears on the nerves. Forget this one!

Pretty dreadful
preppy-320 May 2006
A middle aged businessman has a stop over in Las Vegas. There he meets Susan, a young woman with no morals (as the voice over narration tells us). He wonders if he should have sex with her and cheat on his wife...but is it worth it?

Slow, padded (ENDLESS shots of Susan walking down the street and taking off her clothes) and generally stupid movie. Even for a 60s sleaze movie this is pretty horrible. This was just made to show off nude woman which we see again...and again...and AGAIN!!!! Gets boring quick. The acting is horrid, the dialogue stupid and Susan is really pretty ugly. The film is also hypocritical giving us a little "moral" message after shoving nude women in our faces. Add shaky camera-work and bad post-syncing and you got a bottom of the barrel piece of junk here. Avoid.

"I guess I have too many clothes on for this party. Unzip me."

Better than average low-budget sexploitation flick about a middle-aged married man stopping over in Las Vegas and hooking up with a 17-year-old runaway with no morals. She's a cute teen with no shame about her body who thinks everything is "groovy" and quickly gets on his nerves after a night of passion. But she gets him to take her to what turns into the only orgy ever with too few men.

The acting is weak, and the audio is lousy, but where else can you find late-60s girl-girl vintage vibrating massager action? I ask you, where? Unfortunately, our protagonist is a depressing prude and nearly jinxes all our fun. Man, what a square.

But all the tawdry partying among complete--and sometimes faceless--strangers gets old fast. Our bad girl has her good time and tries to return to her sugar daddy, with predictable results.

Dull-witted, yes, but delivers what it promises.

Plenty of Nudity for the Rain Coat Crowd

Good Time With a Bad Girl (1967)

* 1/2 (out of 4)

A business man (Lucky Kargo), unhappy in his marriage, has his plane land in Las Vegas where he ends up getting stranded for the night. He eventually runs into a high school drop-out who is new in town and soon the two strike up a friendship. Before long he has to ask himself whether or not he should have an affair.

This Barry Mahon film certainly isn't as campy as some of his movies but there are enough interesting moments to make it worth viewing if you're into these type of grade Z exploitation movies. This one here features plenty of female nudity so the rain coat crowd will certainly be pleased with it, although I must admit that the story itself rarely makes too much sense.

Obviously the main goal was to show off naked women and on that level the film is a major success. Those going into seedy theaters to see nudity were taken good care of. I also thought Kargo turned in a pretty good performance and the film at least runs at a good pace and with a 59 minute running time it doesn't overstay its welcome.
