In the printed story of the Sneetches, the con man Sylvester McBean is a monkey who wears a bowler hat and bow tie, and nothing else. In the cartoon, a more humanistic McBean wears a jumpsuit.
In the introduction to "The Zax," The Cat in the Hat mentions a "Zinniga-Zanniga tree." "The Rabbit, The Bear and the Zinniga-Zanniga" is a Dr. Seuss story printed in a magazine in 1950 or 1951. Although a record was made in 1965 with Marvin Miller, it was not collected in book form until 2011, in The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories.

This is the first and only Dr. Seuss television special to feature more than one story together.
