No boo for these bumblers.

Warning: Spoilers
Corny and somewhat forced, this spoof of old fashioned theater melodramas is still one of the better pairings of second rate comedy short team Tom Kennedy and Monte Collins. It deals with the sinister letters threatening stage actress Eve Southern, leaving producer Herman Bing perplexed and nervous servant Fred 'Snowflake' Toones all a jitter.

I guess I'd be jittery too if I saw a phantom that resembled Boris Karloff leering at me with his arms stretched out like Bela Lugosi. If you enjoy silly comedy and over-the-top acting, then you may be able to get past the absurdities, like the ranting of the heavily accented Herman Bing who sounds like Sgt. Schultz from "Hogan's Heroes" on speed. Kennedy and Collins aren't tops in classic comedy, but they're fortunately not the focus here which works out well in the film's favor.
