New rumors have been swirling that Disney bought Alcatraz Island to add a new Disneyland theme park, but is it true?

No. Disney did not buy Alcatraz.

The rumor and report came from a known parody site- Mouse Trap News.

In the article, they indicate that the Walt Disney Company bought the infamous prison for $30 billion to create a unique Disney theme park experience.

They also joked that the experiences would tie into the location, like allowing guests to Larp as prisoners or guards, or the Ghost of Alcatraz ride, which is their version of the Haunted Mansion.

A major star is talking about Disney not changing the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and with a "Wicked" tongue to boot!

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror has just celebrated its 30th anniversary as one of the most iconic attractions in all of Disney's history. Opening at what was then the Disney-mgm Studios, the attraction wonderfully integrated the classic TV series into a stunning attraction as fans loved the drops and amazing theme.

The ride was replicated for California Adventure, Paris' Disney Studios park and then Tokyo DisneySea. The latter had to be changed as The Twilight Zone isn't that famous in Japan, so the ride was altered to an original story of an explorer.

The California version was changed in 2017 to Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, using the popular Marvel characters and a rock soundtrack. It's become a big success while the Florida version still retains the Twilight Zone themes.

The 31-year-old Wicked actress and pop superstar made an appearance on Las Culturistas, where she spoke out directly to Disney asking them not to re-theme the Florida version of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride into Marvel‘s Guardians of the Galaxy, as they did in California’s Disneyland.

“I want to speak on the Tower of Terror because I love and respect the Guardians of the Galaxy, of course I do. I think it’s a beautiful thing, it’s great, it’s impressive, it’s amazing. I’m a big Baby Groot person,” she began.

“I don’t remember much about her, but I love her,” she continued, adding “it’s not angst, it’s dire desperation” to keep the Florida ride the way it is.

Disneyland has unveiled a new video that provides a more detailed look at Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout!, the new superhero-themed attraction that's replacing the park's beloved Tower of Terror. We saw some concept art during Comic-Con, and now there's a video that shows off some of the designs and colors fans will see when they approach the huge building housing the ride.

But maybe they'll be more open to an additional Guardians-related ride that's rumored to be coming to Walt Disney World's Epcot Center.

Walt Disney World Today (via /Film) says that current Epcot attraction Ellen's Energy Adventure is going to be replaced with the first roller coaster in the park's history, a Guardians of the Galaxy-themed ride that "would feature both elaborate scenes and a long roller coaster portion." James Gunn and much of his cast from "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" popped up at the San Diego Comic Con last night to show off rapturously received first footage from the sequel.

Today at San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, announced to a packed house of fans that the Guardians Of The Galaxy are coming to Disney California Adventure park!

Beginning summer 2017, guests at Disney California Adventure Park will join in a daring confrontation with one of the most unusual characters in the park's history: Tanaleer Tivan, the Collector. He has opened his unique collection of fauna, relics and species to guests for a special tour culminating with his latest prized possessions: the Guardians of the Galaxy, themselves! Fortunately, Rocket has a plan to free his friends­ – and that plan includes recruiting Disneyland Resort guests in a sensational rescue effort.

A “Guardians of the Galaxy” ride will debut at Disney’s California Adventure park in summer 2017, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced Saturday evening during a panel at Comic-Con in San Diego. The ride will be called “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!” and take over the space currently occupied by the Tower of Terror, a popular elevator-drop ride that will shut down in January. There was no word about what would happen to the Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park in Orlando. Feige offered a first look at concept art for the new attraction, which will have.

After debuting the new Doctor Strange trailer at its presentation at Comic-Con earlier this evening, Marvel Studios brought out Yondu and his team of Ravagers to introduce/make fun of the cast of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. After being on the receiving end of a sick Movie 43 burn, director James Gunn promised a big announcement, which turned out to be mere confirmation of the rumor that the Tower of Terror at Disneyland is being replaced with a new Guardians Of The Galaxy ride:

We wrote about this back in May, but tonight the ride was confirmed on the Hall H stage at San Diego Comic-Con during Marvel Studios' presentation.
