great holiday movie
jewelp243 November 2001
If you've read the book, you'll really like the movie. LeAnn Rimes is great. My only complaint is that it isn't available on video, because it's hard to pay attention when it's on TV during the Christmas Eve frenzy. All in all, this movie really does justice to the book.

Disappointing!
Zephyrwood7 December 2004
I just recently watched this movie on LIfetime TV and I just didn't like it! I like Leann Rhimes she is one of my favorite singers and I thought her acting was good and I think the acting from Bernadette Peters and the woman who played Leann's grandmother was great but still I found this movie disappointing because it wasn't Christmassy enough for me and I thought that there were some things in this movie that were kind of cheesy and far fetched! Fans of the TV show Wings will notice that the actress who plays Leann Rhimes grandmother in this movie was also in Wings, she was the older woman who worked the announcement system and was kind of a busy body!

Great TV Movie
leeward1114 November 2000
This was a great movie for LeAnn Rimes to start her acting career on! What is really neat about this is that Rimes wrote the whole thing. Her and Bernadette Peters have the leads in this soon to be CLASSIC! Rimes plays a new singing sensation who meets an angel (Bernadette) who teaches her a valuable lesson on life. Great movie! See it!

Certainly no Christmas classic
Tito-829 January 1999
Okay, I'll give this film a few points for being well intentioned, but this is simply NOT a good movie. This film suffers badly from being hopelessly predictable, not to mention the fact that it is flat-out boring. If you're a fan of LeAnn Rimes, then perhaps you might enjoy seeing her in a movie, but I have very little doubt that any future films that she is featured in will be MUCH better than this yawner.

What about a DVD?
jim-122519 June 2006
I watched this movie on TV in the middle of summer, and really enjoyed the characters, narration, dialogue and songs. For me, the tone was spot on - neither light nor heavy. I thought the Grandma character was rather special. True, Father Christmas appears, but it will be a shame if showings are limited to the Christmas period. I found this title edifying and uplifting, and was most disappointed to find there was no DVD.

How about it, you folk who can correct this deficiency? I don't have a music collection, but did look on the Internet for LeAnn Rimes CDs to hear more of her work. These cost somewhat more than the average price I pay for a DVD, so I will be checking the sites at intervals for special offers.

Amazing movie

I loved this movie. It's one of those feel good, TV movies you can't help but love. Leann Rimes is fantastic. As well as Bernadette Peters. The music is great, the story is inspirational. I highly recommend seeing this movie.

This is a wonderful movie about a Young gal who always wanted to sing in the Grand Old Opera and when she Finally does get her chance, Problems occur. This movie has been wonderfully made and most of all, LeAnn Rimes is in it. ( I'm a LeAnn Rimes Fan )

A great movie!!
wmstrome22 December 2008
I cannot believe the low average rating for this movie (5)! It is one of the best I have seen in a long time. The acting is good, the singing is really excellent and it is filled with good people -- the kind of people that fill my life as relatives and friends (unlike the unlikeable characters that populate most movie scripts these days). It has a very uplifting story, and there is absolutely no violence, profanity or sexual innuendos. What a treat! The only reason that I did not give it a "10" is that the principal actress did not look as if she were 14 years old. However, this is not very important, as her singing voice is so beautiful. Perhaps it is a bit idealistic, but we need much more idealism in our entertainment.

Inspirational lovely movie, SEE IT

Warning: Spoilers
The first time i saw Hoilday in your heart on lifetime, i loved it. LeAnn Rimes was excellent playing herself. Wings Rebecca Schull was brilliant as Leeann Rimes grandmother Therese. I do have to say this, i am a big fan of Bernadette peters and i am a fan of Leeann rimes. Bernadette Peters was amazing as faith Shawn. The country music is lovely, thrilling and exciting and the movie is based on LeAnn Rimes life. Even thou there were a lot of commercials it was still a great movie to watch. If your a LeAnn Rimes fan, watch it and you'll be amazed. Hoilday in your heart also teaches about life and LeAnnn Rimes really brought it home. The locations were perfect for the movie and it set the tone for the movie also. The acting was amazing. SEE IT.

Excellent Movie!

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this movie, it was excellent. Everything about it was great; acting, costumes, production, script, plot, storyline, directing, photography, etc. I thought that LeAnn Rimes did an excellent job acting in this movie.

In this movie LeAnn meets Faith Shaw, one of her favorite singers. Faith shares her story of fame, failure, and other things with her. During their time together she tells LeAnn a heartbreaking story about a blind man who died when he saved her life. Bernadette Peters also did a great job as Faith Shaw.

I was happy in the end when her grandma survived. She was a strong woman and LeAnn takes after her so well. This is definitely a movie I recommend seeing to everyone. It will leave you with a great feeling in your heart.

Any movie with Rimes singing and Peters acting....
A_Different_Drummer9 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
OK, you got me, this is not up there with Godfather. But fact is that Rimes is a legitimate phenom of her era. I recall a joke that she started so young, she sang "Bridge Over Troubled Wa-Wa." So to make a movie around her story, and give her a chance to use those pipes, is not automatically a bad thing. And yes, this review was written in 2013, by which time it is sorta clear that her acting career is not about to catch fire anytime soon, so this may be one of the few performances she will leave to posterity. With all those caveats, this film is still a very nice way to spend some time. And Bernadette Peters is the kind of actress that can make a shaving commercial interesting, so you can't complain about a lack of talent. Recommended. Whatta voice.
