Simplicity

This storefront porn movie, preserved largely due to having John Holmes head up the cast, resembles the B movies of mainstream Hollywood so popular in the '40s and '50s, except it's missing the colorful character actors who made those cheapies fun to watch. Instead, it's a one-day wonder with just the basics: pretty girls, XXX sex and a corny excuse for a plot.

Holmes has a photography studio (very cheap set) where he takes nude shots of models and has sex with them. Movie starts off with him talking his secretary (the great Suzanne Fields) into posing for him, and off course having sex afterward.

He has a client Brent (William Kirschner, in movies spanning several decades) who sponsors many a model and gets to have sex with one here after John shoots her stills, lovely Tricia Opal. Watching Kirschner have sex is hardly entertainment, but perhaps was soothing to the guys who attended this movie back in the day, as one could identify with him as opposed to porn's big-dick studs like Holmes.

Next model is a beauty who made very few films, Sharon York, also having sex with Holmes and introducing her boyfriend Jim (played by Billy Lane). Lane returns in the next scene, when Holmes phones him to serve as a male model opposite another Brent "discovery", Sharon Dempsey.

The Lane/Dempsey scene sets up the movie's sole plot twist, as not only does Lane get angry when he finds the photos Holmes shot at a porn store but the cops raid Holmes' studio and arrest everyone. It appears Dempsey, perceived by Holmes as possibly underage, runs to the cops to complain. Movie ends with cast read their Miranda rights and final "The End" shot featured (for the umpteenth time) next to a still of a naked female crotch, this time a bushy front-shot rather than the usual punning rear-end.

Femme cast looks fine, other than wearing crummy wigs, and acting is poor, especially Holmes' overly dramatic line readings. Lane starred in a very similar movie with Fields in 1971 titled "The Young Model", recently resurrected by Vinegar Syndrome retitled: "Lemon or Cream".
