Margot Robbie is one of the most prolific actresses working in Hollywood today. She created history when she starred in last year’s Barbie, which became the highest-grossing movie of the year and broke multiple records. She also co-produced the film under her Lucky Chap Entertainment production company.
Robbie has also been widely regarded as one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood. But reportedly that did not save her from experiencing a bad date. During a press meet for Suicide Squad, Robbie revealed that she had once been on a date that was so bad that she asked out the waiter instead to escape from it.

C-span coverage of Congress turned into a Jerry Springer-like spectacle of name-calling and insults on Thursday, as a verbal jab lobbed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-ga) triggered an extended period of outcry from several Democrats on the House Oversight Committee.
The purpose of the hearing was to consider whether to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt, a polarizing proposal that quickly made the proceedings raucous. But things got especially chaotic after Greene took a swipe at Rep. Jasmine Crockett over her “fake eyelashes.”
Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-ny) then stepped in to protest Greene’s remarks, telling her, “How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person.”
Greene responded, “Are your feelings hurt?”
“Oh, girl. Baby girl. Don’t even play,” Ocasio-Cortez responded.
Greene said that she would strike her words, but she declined to apologize.

A month after they got back to work and started airing post-wga strike originals, early late night returns show good news for Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert — while in daytime, Kelly Clarkson’s move to New York was a winning strategy in its first week of new episodes.
Talk shows were among the first original programs to return to air following the resolution of the Writers Guild of America strike, with the late night shows all returning the week of Oct. 2 after a five-month hiatus. With the shows back now a month, ABC is touting that “Jimmy Kimmel Live” has won the first four weeks of the season among adults 18-49 — and that four consecutive week streak marks the show’s longest at No. 1 in the demo since more than a year ago.

The songs and score of the new film “Dicks: The Musical” are deadpan, but about as far away from dead and humanly and musically possible. It sounds like a fully fleshed-out Broadway musical brought to vibrant life on the big screen, even though it went directly from being a two-man mini-show in a New York comedy club to a movie with a traditonal-sounding, fully orchestrated song score, the scope of which is matched only by the gleeful vulgarity of the lyrics.
Creator-screenwriter-stars Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson wrote the lyrics for the songs. But when it came to lending them total-earworm melodies, or production values that sound like the Great White Way or golden-era Hollywood, those responsibilities fell to Marius de Vries and Karl Saint Lucy. As Drew Barrymore digs herself into a deeper hole regarding the return of her daytime talk show, lost in the debate is a conversation about the peculiar nature of syndicated TV.
One week ago, Barrymore ignited a firestorm when she announced her talk show would be returning amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. In the week since, tensions worsened and Barrymore, normally well-liked for her good-natured personality, intensified that criticism when she doubled down with a second, now-deleted, video message. If anything, her attempt to quell any criticism had the opposite effect.
Barrymore is at the eye of the storm, but she is not the only daytime host returning this upcoming week. “The Jennifer Hudson Show” and CBS’ “The Talk,” which is not syndicated, will launch new seasons on Monday, Sept. 18, as well as Sherri Shepherd’s “Sherri” and Karamo Brown’s “Karamo,” though those two shows are not struck or covered by the WGA,...

Jerry Springer Once Apologized for ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ Being on Air Because ‘It’s Still Awful’
Reality TV show host the late Jerry Springer was the face of his raunchy television series for 27 seasons. Although the show always managed to maintain a sizable audience, Springer himself once confided his complete shock at the show’s longevity.

The Jerry Springer Show became a mega-hit during the mid-to-late 1990s thanks to its focus on controversy and live drama. But the show wasn’t always as wild as most of its fans remember it as. The show was much tamer during its original run in the early 1990s, leaning more towards politics and real world issues.
With the show’s declining ratings back then, The Jerry Springer Show went in a much more unpredictable direction to help improve the show’s standing. The formula worked, allowing the hit television show to last for decades in its current incarnation.

On April 27, 2023, former Cincinnati mayor and longtime talk show host Jerry Springer passed away. He was 79. The man led a long and textured life with many acts. As a boy, he fled England as it was being bombed by the Nazis. He came to the United States and began studying law, eventually becoming a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He was a campaign adviser for John F. Kennedy, and practiced law in Cincinnati. In 1971, he sat on the Cincinnati city council, but was infamously kicked off in 1974 for a sex scandal. Springer had been candid about the scandal over the following years, and even laughed at himself a little bit for using a personal check to pay a sex worker.
This didn't stymie his career, and he became the mayor of Cincinnati in 1978. It wouldn't be until 1991 that Springer, having accrued some broadcasting experience, would become a talk show host. "Jerry Springer" began innocently enough,...

It’s become a cliché, but it’s hard to imagine “Jerry Springer” airing in 2023.
The tabloid talk show — which debuted in 1991 and aired 4,969 episodes during its 27-season run — was known for outrageous guests and Nc-17 situations that soared over the boundaries of good taste. But the heart of the program was the good-natured host, a former newscaster and Cincinnati mayor who was a ringmaster to the circus that played out onstage every day.
Springer, who died on April 27, was known in the industry as a loyal friend and a kind boss. He also had an impish sense of humor. He was the first to joke about the craziness of the show that made him nationally famous. But he also defended it and embraced the unique moments that only happened on his stage.
“My show is what it is,” Springer said in a 2018 interview. “My show is stupid…[But] we all...

Even if longtime fans of "The Simpsons" have fallen away from their love of the series in recent years, the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes typically have the power to bring them back. Every Halloween for over 30 years, "The Simpsons" has delivered an ongoing series of anthology shorts that take inspiration from horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres. Acting as "The Simpsons" version of "The Twilight Zone" or "The Outer Limits," each episode contains a few shorts that find Springfield's finest caught up in some kind of unbelievable story. It should come as no surprise that some of the great moments in Simpsons history comes from these episodes, and the recent passing of controversial talk show host Jerry Springer just reminded us of one of those hilarious bits.
During the tenth season of "The Simpsons" in October 1998, writer David X. Cohen (who would go on to co-create the brilliant "Futurama") gave us the segment "Starship Poopers.

One of the biggest pop culture staples of the late 90s was The Jerry Springer Show. It brought forth the popularity of guilty pleasure, trash television as outrageous guests talk without filters, argue with the audience and each other, and eventually get into fist fights. The show itself made cameo appearances in other mediums, like a segment in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me where Dr. Evil returns and eventually gets into a fight with another guest. Chances are, you probably chanted his name at one point, following suit as the audience cheer him on as the shit hits the fan on his show.
Variety now reports that the famed host has passed at the age of 79. Springer started as a former Cincinnati news anchor and mayor before he found a place on daytime television. Springer is said to have died peacefully at his home in the Chicago suburbs on Thursday.

In 2015, Jerry Springer spoke with TV Guide Magazine to toast 25 years of The Jerry Springer Show. The anniversary, which came three years before the series concluded and eight years before the death of Springer, made way for some fun reflections for the host who started with the syndicated daytime talk show when it premiered in 1991, continuing through until its ending in 2018. Below, hear what Springer cited as his best “worst” moments on the series. Jerry Springer was working as a Cincinnati news anchor in 1990 when his TV station’s owner (which also produced Donahue and Sally Jessy Raphael) recruited him to host a new daytime talk show. “There was no expectation that it would last at all,” Springer recalls. “My first contract was six weeks.” At the beginning, The Jerry Springer Show emulated Donahue and tackled serious subjects. But the success of Ricki Lake in 1993 convinced Springer and his producers...

According to TMZ, a family spokesperson confirmed that he was battling a "brief illness" and died at his Chicago home on Thursday, April 27. The outlet also claims that Springer was suffering from pancreatic cancer, which worsened in recent weeks and forced the host to stop working entirely.
Springer is best known for his work as the host of the hit talk show "The Jerry Springer Show" for a whopping 27 years, starting in 1991. The daytime program was a cultural touchstone of the 1990s and was known for its raucous, out-of-control fights and controversial subject matter. It ended up becoming something of a watering hole for folks with open schedules — namely stay-at-home moms — to watch something wild during the day among the slightly neutered soap operas. Jerry Springer, the former Cincinnati news anchor and mayor who came to preside over the controversial and extremely profitable talk show bearing his name, has died. He was 79.

The guests would often get into physical fights with each other over the information revealed in the episode, which led many viewers to claim Jerry Springer scripted these interactions. One former guest on the show dispelled these rumors with their story about their experience on the show.

Over the last two decades, “A Black Lady Sketch Show” creator and star Robin Thede has broken down barrier after barrier for Black women in comedy, culminating with her Emmy-winning HBO sketch comedy series that epitomizes the phrase “for us, by us.”
At the center of the show’s success is its particular Black lady perspective. Cast members Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Skye Townsend riff on relatable themes, like ashy skin, hair woes and the politics of the Black church, and present them with a healthy helping of Black lady joy.
“We value authenticity above anything else, and we know that calling something ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show,’ it’s got to feel authentic to Black ladies,” Thede tells Variety, sitting down to discuss the series and its road to the screen.

Maury Povich is retiring and bringing an end to his tabloid talk show “Maury” in September after 31 long seasons and 24 with NBCUniversal.
“Six years ago when I was ready to retire, my the NBCUniversal family asked me to continue the show,” Maury said in a statement. “Even though I told them I was ready for assisted living, out of loyalty to NBCUniversal and my more than 100 staff and crew members, Tracie Wilson and I agreed to one more deal. I’m so proud of my relationship with NBCUniversal and all those who worked on the ‘Maury’ show but as I occasionally tell my guests on ‘Maury,’ ‘Enough, already!'”
Tracie Wilson, Executive Vice President, NBCUniversal Syndication Studios, added, “Maury and I decided two years ago that this season would be the farewell season for the show, and while his retirement is bittersweet, we are so happy for him to be...

Get those paternity tests in now, because “Maury” won’t help you find out whether you’re the father beyond this September. “Maury” is the latest daytime talker to announce that it’s ceasing production in 2022, in what is now amounting to a major shift in the daypart.
Maury Povich is ending his run and retiring after 24 seasons of hosting “Maury” for NBCUniversal Syndication Studios (and its predecessors) — and seven seasons before that at Paramount Domestic Television, where it was titled “The Maury Povich Show.” Most recently, NBCU had renewed “Maury” in February 2020 for two more seasons in national syndication, bringing it through 2022.
Povich’s exit comes as NBCU also ends another first-run syndicated series, “Judge Jerry,” hosted by Jerry Springer, after three seasons. And the daytime talk landscape is being remade as “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Nick Cannon” and “The Wendy Williams Show” all say farewell.
Although Povich will halt producing original episodes,...
