- The scene of the giant wave reaching almost the top of the World Trade Center and later the towers seen still standing but seriously damaged, especially since what happened three years after this movie was released.
- It is implied that the main character's mother has committed suicide. No detail of the incident is show, but the woman is seen sitting on her chair in silence. The act is confirmed when Jenny receives a phone call from the mortuary. Jenny is clearly very upset and is seen crying. This can be upsetting to anyone (young or old). bereavement theme, emotional distress)
