  • The is a conversation between two women about not having had sex with a man. A woman is on her phone talking about a man's affair with a mistress.
  • No sex or nudity. Some sexual references.
  • There is a discussion of being f***ed by someone, not referencing the sex act, but then the discussion changes to being about a man having sex with someone.
  • It's stated, "You know, you're going to have sex a lot more than anyone else now."

  • A man loses control of his car that goes over an embankment and crashes down a hill where it explodes, killing the man. (no detail of injury)
  • A man is blinded by the sun on a comet. We briefly see his skin blister under the heat.

  • The crew of the Messiah must plant their nuclear weapons on the comet and get off before the sun hits the area where they're working (or the temperature will rise to lethal levels). As the "sunrise" nears, one member is deep in a hole trying to dislodge a nuke and the crew then scrambles to get back to the ship and to safety.
  • There are many emotionally intense scenes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • the Jon Faverau character Gus partenza dies
  • The scene of the giant wave reaching almost the top of the World Trade Center and later the towers seen still standing but seriously damaged, especially since what happened three years after this movie was released.
  • It is implied that the main character's mother has committed suicide. No detail of the incident is show, but the woman is seen sitting on her chair in silence. The act is confirmed when Jenny receives a phone call from the mortuary. Jenny is clearly very upset and is seen crying. This can be upsetting to anyone (young or old). bereavement theme, emotional distress)
