If being hounded by Mr. X was enough to make you lose bowel control, you might want to think twice about picking up Resident Evil 3.
A remake of another beloved classic, the series’ third entry sees players take control of former S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine as she attempts to escape Raccoon City. As Leon and Claire were forced to face Umbrella’s impervious Tyrants in Resident Evil 2‘s own reimagining, so too, is Jill, though her adversary is infinitely more dangerous than the fedora-wearing type. Like his brethren, Nemesis boasts an intimidating size and incredible strength but possesses superior intellect due to its body hosting a special parasite.
That being the case, Nemesis is not only capable of strategic thinking, but using tools, wielding weapons and, most worrisome of all, running. As suspected, Capcom is utilizing the same AI technology it used for Mr X in order to give Nemesis life,...

There are big surprises coming to Marvel's X-Men!
Jonathan Hickman and the rest of the Dawn of X crew have done great work with villains since the post-House of X/Powers of X status quo emerged. Orchis somehow got better in X-Men than they were in House of X/Powers of X, while Morgan Le Fay and the Marauders in Excalibur and X-Force are great tone-setter baddies for first stories. And perhaps the neatest trick Hickman’s pulled so far is turning late stage capitalism into an antihero in X-Men #4. But a promo and the story title for the next issue are combining to make a quick, throwaway moment from the first issue be the most exciting thing to happen to the X-Men since Wolverine gutted Moira MacTaggart an entire lifetime ago: the Children of the Vault are back!
No, not the Children of Tomorrow (but that...

I’ve written elsewhere that I had become in more recent years quite jaded by the big crossover event, or the ‘buy 36 books to get the whole picture’ event. Good storytelling was being jettisoned in favour of editorial control, and the industry as a whole was suffering. Then DC started doing these type of comics, well, better. I have been really enjoying Year of the Villain, Tales from the Dark Multiverse, Event Leviathan and DCeased. Not perfect, but solid entertainment. So, what can Marvel do? Can they raise their game? Seemed like this relaunch of the 2099 universe, with specials and mini-series galore, was a good place to start. And what better place to start than this Alpha issue, where it all kicks off. Let’s take a look.

Now that Marvel Studios has the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four mythologies back from Fox, it’s assumed it’ll be a priority for them to get Doctor Doom into the McU Asap. As one of the biggest supervillains in the Marvel universe, he could make a lot of noise in the franchise. But for the same reason, he could also make his first appearance in many different ways and a new rumor points to him featuring in a movie we hadn’t thought of before: Black Panther 2.
Charles Murphy has reported that it’s possible Victor Von Doom could serve as the antagonist of the upcoming sequel for Chadwick Boseman’s King T’Challa. His info points to Doom looking to expand his empire by invading parts of Africa, which will ultimately put him at odds with Black Panther when he attempts to conquer Wakanda. Murphy stresses,...

What does the future of the Pokémon franchise hold now that Sword and Shield are out?
Pokémon Sword and Shield are out in the wild now, and despite garnering negative reactions from some fans because of a limited Pokédex, the games have earned a lot of positive reviews and also become the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch titles to date. So what's next for the franchise?
With the Pokémon franchise having been around for decades, there is plenty of past form for us to consider here. There are a few obvious options that might hold clues as to what Game Freak, Nintendo, and The Pokémon Company could have in store for their core critter-catching RPG franchise going forward.
We put our thinking hats on and came up with a few logical options that may or may not prove to be accurate. But for now, these are the best guesses...

In April, Bts released Map of the Soul: Persona, an instant commercial smash. The seven-piece K-Pop ensemble outsold Beyoncé’s surprise live album, Homecoming, by an enviable margin, and earned their third chart-topping album in less than 11 months. The last group to earn that many number ones as quickly was the Beatles.
But on Wednesday, when the Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 2020 Grammys, Bts were nowhere to be found.
This demonstrates the ongoing challenge for K-pop acts: They consistently outsell — not to mention out dance — their American counterparts,...

Fans of the Arrowverse were first introduced to the multiverse, the idea of parallel worlds with parallel versions of our beloved characters on, The Flash Season 2 Episode 2.
Since then, our heroes have encountered multiple earths, including but not limited to:
Earth II, where Black Siren, Zoom, Harry Wells, and Jesse Quick came from
Earth III, where Jay Garrick came from
Earth 38 where Supergirl takes place Earth X, where nazis reigned supreme and Kara was involved with Oliver.
The theory of a multiverse is fascinating, but the Arrowverse is not the first show to go there. Oh, we can give credit to the comics circa 1961 and debate whether Marvel or DC did it first, but we're talking TV here.
And for TV, there is also a long history of parallel worlds.
In some cases, these worlds are fantasies, in others, a true parallel reality. However they came about, these shows gave...

There are so many shocking moments squeezed into the final battle of Avengers: Endgame. One of them comes though when Thanos uses his blade to destroy Captain America’s shield. Not only is it a weapon with much history in the McU, but it’s also made of the most powerful metal on Earth, vibranium. In the movie, the Mad Titan bests the shield with his double-sided blade. But in some newly unveiled concept art, the villain breaks it with his bare hands.
Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame: The Art of the Movie reveals a lot of fascinating, incredible artwork from the Marvel movie event of the year. As for this particular piece, check out the video above at the 10:05 timestamp, as it shows us that originally, the fight between Thanos and Steve Rogers was going to see the tyrant using nothing but his fists against the hero, with him...

This morning, I wrote in Rolling Stone, “Why is Christopher Steele still a thing?” The British ex-spy reappeared as a contributor to a British intelligence report, and I argued his “dossier” tale was a press fiasco similar to the Weapons of Mass Destruction affair.
“The Wmd affair showed what happens when we don’t require sources to show us evidence, when we let political actors use the press to “confirm” their own assertions, when we report on the journey of rumors instead of the rumors themselves…”
Some on social media disputed the characterization.

Inxs guitarist riffs on producers, songwriting, a legendary concert at Wembley Stadium.
Inxs started out as a cover band playing clubs and went on to write international hits "as sexy and funky as any white rock group," according to 1001 Songs: The Great Songs of All Time and the Artists, Stories and Secrets Behind Them.
Mates since childhood, Inxs is second only to AC/DC in selling the most Australian music to the U.S. But it is their July 13, 1991, show at England's Wembley Stadium which made them legends. This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
Looking back, Pokemon Black and White was something of an in-betweeny point in the franchise’s development. Diamond and Pearl had already mastered the move to DS, and we were still three years away from X and Y making the next big leap with the transition onto the 3Ds. Without new hardware to showcase, the 5th Generation of the franchise could have easily felt like a lull. Booting up Black in 2019, though, it is clear that this generation still holds up pretty well.
The big, bold choices from the development team at Game Freak have helped this game retain its freshness. Take the central setting, for instance: the Unova region represents a major departure from all the previous regions. Rather than taking...

Inxs frontman Michael Hutchence’s 1997 death meant many still-coming-of-age fans were unable to see the Australian band’s magnetism live in its original form.
“Live Baby Live,” an album of the band’s 1991 sold out Wembley Stadium concert, assuaged some, as did its David Mallet-directed video accompaniment. Then the film disappeared, and longtime manager Chris M. Murphy spent 10 years looking for the original 35mm film cans which were eventually located in Australia.
Now CinEvents is bringing a new widescreen 4K Ultra HD restoration of the film to theaters along with a new Dolby Atmos audio mix by executive music producer Giles Martin and Sam Okell, who worked out of Abbey Road Studios. “Live Baby Live,” which includes a previously unseen “lost” track, will screen in theaters beginning on Nov. 14, starting in Australia and New Zealand then making its way to North and South America on Dec. 9 along with other international territories.

One of the first solid details we learned about Marvel’s Avengers back in June was that it would contain microtransactions.
In the absence of any gameplay to fawn over, however, audiences on the show floor at E3 and around the world immediately latched onto the revelation and voiced their concerns over how publisher Square Enix would monetize the lucrative license. We’ve since learned, of course, that the superhero adventure’s optional content will be purely cosmetic in nature, and that all meaningful content – new characters, areas, etc – will arrive free of charge.
In an age of hyper-awareness when it comes to loot boxes and other questionable practices, Marvel’s Avengers‘ approach is a refreshing change of pace. The jury’s still out, of course, on whether the price of such luxuries will be of an acceptable level, but at the very least, players won’t have to spend...

I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t particularly excited when Ryan Reynolds was selected to voice the titular character in Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. In my mind, his voice is the ‘X’ factor that brings Deadpool to life on the big screen, a smarmy rasp that’s perfect for R-rated cynicism, but not exactly ideal for the first live-action take on everyone’s favorite electric mouse. So imagine my surprise that in a film full of colorful CGI creatures, Reynold’s Pikachu performance is its sole spark of life; a critical hit in a flurry of misses.
For the first act of the film, I was fully on board. Director Rob Letterman does a great job introducing us to the world of Pokemon, where children are given a pocket-sized monster and expected to travel far and wide, catching and battling other critters to prove who’s best.

“Evil Demon Golfball from Hell!!!”
Johnson’s irreverent short film played the festival in 1996, launching a career that has dabbled in artistic indies and big-budget franchise blockbusters (“Star Wars: The Last Jedi”).

World-renowned illusionist Darcy Oake, who made a name for himself as the fifth-place act on “Britain’s Got Talent” Season 8, made his debut in front of American audiences during the third episode of “Agt: The Champions.” Darcy’s performance wowed the judges as he seemingly made Heidi Klum float in midair (watch above). Unfortunately, his stint on the spinoff reality TV show was short-lived as the Superfans, the voters who wield all the power this season, decided to send through opera singer Paul Potts instead. Did the Superfans get it wrong this week? Vote down in our poll below.

With the New Year fast approaching I thought I would pay a little homage to Wizard Magazine and look at what comics could be hot in 2019. This just for fun as I don’t have enough experience in studying the markets, but maybe at some point during next year I will check in with my predictions. Most of the predictions are based off of comics related to movie or TV releases despite the fact I have read/heard numerous articles where comic shop owners say there is no direct correlation between the release of a blockbuster comic book movie and an increase in sales. Obviously should Captain America or Iron Man die in Avengers: Endgame I’m not going to say I expect Captain America #1 or Tales Of Suspense #39 to increase in value. I want this list to represent comics the average comic fan can afford.

Howdy folks. Hopefully everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving feast and are recovering from Tryptophan overload. As a way to move on from Turkey Day (and distract from Black Friday shopping), I’ve got a whole new set of Oscar predictions to share with you! Yes, it’s that time once again. With precursors having begun and only a little over a month left in the year, predictions need to be taken a whole lot more seriously. With each passing week, the race evolves in some new way. Before you know it, it’ll be time to start handing out big prizes, and then…the Oscars won’t be far away. We now live in a world where only Clint Eastwood’s film The Mule resides as an unseen awards season X factor. Hovering over everything right now is the fact that Adam McKay’s Dick Cheney biopic Vice is something to reckon with.

Uruguayan singer-songwriter Jorge Drexler triumphed at this year’s Latin Grammys, winning not one, but two awards for his sublime folk-pop ballad, “Telefonía.” The lead single off his 2017 album, Salvavidas de Hielo, “Telefonía” was honored for both Song of the Year, and the most coveted award of the night, Record of the Year.
The Latin Grammys have a well-documented history of shirking urban artists for more traditional ones, especially veterans. This year the Latin Recording Academy bestowed the honor of Person of the Year to alt-rock heroes Maná; and rewarded...

Nicky Jam performed his indelible hit “X” — a nominee for Record of the Year — and “Jaleo,” a collaboration with electronic producer Steve Aoki, at the Latin Grammys.
“X” is a great duet with J Balvin, but initially Jam took the stage alone in Las Vegas. Luckily, Balvin showed up in time to sing the second verse, leaning casually against a massive, revolving cast of the letter X. The stage set-up could have been improved — there were awkward moments when both performers were hidden from view as the “X” rotated slowly away from the crowd.

J Balvin performed a medley of tracks from his Number One Vibras album at the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas on Thursday.
Mexican singer Carla Morrison opened the performance — just as she opens Vibras — crooning the title track. On the album, her vocals serve as a perfect segue into the insta-classic “Mi Gente.” But in Las Vegas, Balvin turned instead to a different track, the smooth, bouncy “Ambiente.” The singer wore an iridescent sweatsuit and sauntered across a stage covered with similar material.

The Oscar buzz surrounding “Green Book” has been a revelation for Peter Farrelly, directing solo without brother Bobby this time around.
“I have a very thick skin, but I didn’t realize we were so looked-down-on,” Farrelly says with a laugh. “I thought we were highly regarded.”
Critics have marveled that the director, who created a crass-comedy oeuvre with Bobby, was at the helm of this awards-track film. He has a theory about the warm reaction to “Green Book,” audience award winner at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival: “It’s because this movie is not just a bunch of laughs,” Farrelly says. “It’s got heart, a feeling that gets to people.”
If an Oscar-tipped film such as “Green Book” seems like it’s a big step outside Farrelly’s comfort zone, think again. Farrelly’s work has often examined the clash of extreme cultural differences, whether Siamese twins who...

Building on a remarkable eruption of global listeners in 2017, Latin music has continued to soar on YouTube this year, according to data provided to Rolling Stone by the platform.
The extent of Spanish-language pop’s domination is impressive. The three artists with the most views on the platform in 2018 so far are all Spanish-speaking: Ozuna (20 million subscribers; 8.7 billion views), J Balvin (18 million, 7.1 billion) and Bad Bunny (13 million, 7 billion).
In addition, while 45 of the Top 100 most-viewed videos in 2017 involved Latin acts, that number rose to more than 50 this year. 17 Latin videos...

Welcome to this week’s Lucha Underground review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and the Temple is calling… and it wants to know if you wanna take a survey.
Match #1: Jake Strong beat Sammy Guevara
This was a quick one that gave Strong the chance to dominate and get over as a wrestling machine. Strong is finally getting to do what he should have been doing in the WWE when he was Jack Swagger, but Vince would not allow it. Strong’s ankle lock is fantastic and could even rival Kurt Angle’s at this point. Sammy was great here, making a horrifying flip off the balcony onto Strong in true luchador style. Sammy may have hurt his ankle, but since it played into the finish, it may have well been part of the plan. Over-all, this was a fun way to start the show.

Match #1: Dezmond X beat Paul London w/ The White Rabbit Tribe – Gift of the Gods Aztec Medallion Match
This match didn’t go very long, but it was good, wacky stuff. X didn’t make much of an impression with his personality, but he could always try for a stoic demeanor thing (he’s got a stare that even a corpse couldn’t beat). London must get a chuckle every now and then when he considers he once couldn’t stop laughing on camera during the “Vince McMahon died in a limo vignette”, but has ended up going farther down the rabbit hole of bizarre booking then Vince will ever attempt. Speaking of rabbit holes, London’s “Alice in Wonderland...

There will never be another studio like the Cannon Group, the company co-owned by Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, who famously churned out dozens upon dozens of low-budget genre films in the 1980s. Though known for producing mostly schlock, the Cannon run of the ‘80s is one of my favorite periods for movies, probably because they made exactly the kinds of movies I grew up loving and still do to this day.
A shameless combination of Flashdance, The Exorcist, and a ninja movie, Ninja III: The Domination is the third installment of Cannon’s “ninja” trilogy, none of which have anything to do with one another except that Sho Kosugi appears in all of them, each time playing a totally different character. It begins as all ninja movies do: on a golf course. We’re then introduced to Lucinda Dickey (Breakin’), who stars as a woman who works on telephone...

“Fallen London” and “Sunless Seas” studio Failbetter Games is launching a week-long campaign to celebrate indie game developers and their communities.
The first ever #loveindies Week takes place July 16-20 and aims to increase the reviews, ratings, and word of mouth of indie titles.
“Failbetter Games were looking for a way to entice our (fantastic) community to leave more reviews on our games, in order to improve their visibility on stores and build customer trust by (hopefully!) boosting positive review percentages,” the developer explained. “We knew we had thousands of players who hadn’t left reviews but who might take a moment to do so if they felt they were part of something bigger, and something that would make a real difference for our team.
“It became obvious that the best way to do this would be a campaign for all indies to get involved with, something fun that brings...

Just 10 days after rapper XXXTentacion was murdered in a suspected robbery and a day after an open-casket public memorial, a music video for his hit song “Sad!” has arrived. In it, the rapper attends his own funeral. His other self jumps out of the casket, and the two engage in a ferocious fistfight in the church and later in an alley. Throughout, the living X has a philosophical conversation with a hooded, sensei-like figure. The clip, written and “creative directed” by X and directed by Jmp, is loaded with symbols, but perhaps the most telling is a handwritten note that appears next to X’s other self after the fight:
People change, things change, and so did I,
As long as the outcome is good for family and myself I’m not complaining.
Some may see that as a comment on the 2016 charges of battery and false imprisonment against the...

A company called Structured Asset Sales filed the lawsuit, claiming Ed's song, "Thinking Out Loud," is a carbon copy of Gaye's "Let's Get it On." According to the lawsuit, Sheeran's song has the same melody, rhythms, harmonies, drums, bassline, backing chorus, tempo, syncopation and looping as "Let's Get it On." Gaye's...

Considering how popular and ubiquitous his songs are, it’s surprising to learn that Ed Sheeran has topped nearly every single chart on Shazam’s 2018-to-date statistics.
“Even though Ed’s album “Divide” is now more than a year old, the songs from it continue to be Shazamed in large numbers,” said Julian Marshall, Global Head of Content. “With some big releases incoming from Drake, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, and tracks like “X” still in our Worldwide Top 10, it’ll be interesting to see if he’s still top of the charts at the end of the year.”

Neil Patrick Harris doesn’t think that any other platform but Netflix could have made a series of “A Series of Unfortunate Events” happen the way it has — in terms of both the show’s structure as well as the budget.
“I don’t think we would have been afforded the creative liberties that we are,” he said in an interview with IndieWire. “People who have read the books value that each book takes place in a complete location; a fully formed, ridiculous locale that I don’t think you could afford to create — on top of a mountain, a house dangling off of a ledge, a herpetologist’s mansion with giant topiaries in the front.”

The New Mutants is finally about to see the light of day this year. And Disney and Fox have the creepy new trailer to prove it.
The New Mutants were the first of Marvel's X-Men spinoffs in the comics, dealing with a younger crop of gifted youngsters as the core X-Men cast expanded and aged. So it's natural that we'd eventually get a version of them on screen. The only question has become when. Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) directed this X-Men spinoff, which he co-wrote with Scott Neustadter, Michael H. Weber, and Knate Gwaltney. Principal photography wrapped well back in 2017 and the movie seemed all set for its April 13, 2018 release date (which is still indicated by its original teaser).
