Rolling Stone‘s interview series King for a Day features long-form conversations between senior writer Andy Greene and singers who had the difficult job of fronting major rock bands after the departure of an iconic vocalist. Some of them stayed in their bands for years, while others lasted just a few months. In the end, however, they all found out that replacement singers can themselves be replaced. This edition features former Creedence Clearwater Revisited singer John Tristao.

It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.
Yes, we get it. Times are tough and there's comfort in reflection, but enough is enough.
Below, a final goodbye to the 90s to end the nostalgia once and for all. (We're not kidding. There are 1990 items below.)
1. Scrunchies
2. "The Wild Thornberries"
3. Dawson and Joey
4. "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys"

You know those stars who blow up for all of about five minutes -- or five years, if they're lucky -- and then disappear into the ether? The ones whom you're reminded of only upon seeing a late-night commercial for "Totally R&B" or gasping with excitement as they pop up on the latest episode of "30 Rock"?
The Huffington Post has been scouring the Web for juice on some of your old favorites, from pop-music princess Mandy Moore to "Cruel Intentions" heartthrob Ryan Phillippe. Find out what these and plenty of other stars are actually up to. Believe it or not, most of them are in fact still working. (We didn't believe it either.)
Music:
Ginuwine
You might not be aware, but R&B slow-jam aficionado Ginuwine is still making music. He released a greatest hits album in 2006, and his most recent effort, 2011’s “Elgin,” debuted at a crisp No.

Faceless minions are not what the movie Intruders is about. Instead, it is about a supernatural force bent on possessing two children who live quite literally worlds apart. This dark shadowy entity is after 13-year old Mia (Ella Purnell) and her father, John Farrow (Clive Owen), can do very little to help save her ... or can he?
Filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) helms this movie. The trailer that recently released shows that Mia is an aspiring writer. Her voice over makes for an interesting set up which creates a potentially sinister tone for the film. Her British accent helps add to the ambience, and hopefully this movie will not be another Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. This film seems to have influences from M. Night Shyamalan's Signs as well.
Thankfully the MPAA rating of R is the right step for at least suggesting the chills are indeed...

Last year, TeenNick brought back Nickelodeon classics from the '90s for a late night block of programming called "The '90s Are All That" and viewers were ecstatic. For the first time in years, fans of All That, Kenan & Kel, Rugrats, The Secret World of Alex Mack, and Salute Your Shorts could watch reruns on television. It was a dream come true for the young adults who remember a time when the Big Orange Couch was a staple in every Nickelodeon commercial and when kids got slimed daily, not just at the Kids' Choice Awards. Fans flooded to social media shortly after TeenNick announced the new schedule in July, which was no surprise. '90s nostalgia is big online. Numerous Facebook pages and groups exist devoted to the decade and Twitter handles, @The90sLife and @90sgirlproblem, have more than 270,000 followers respectively. The beloved decade is represented well online, however,...

Some fans so upset, they tell MTV News they'll stop watching 'Idol.'

Pia Toscano on "American Idol"
Photo: Fox
Thursday night's elimination of presumed "American Idol" frontrunner Pia Toscano has already been called "the most shocking" early exit in the show's 10-year history, and, somewhat accordingly, the response has been apoplectic, to say the least.
It seems that everywhere you looked — from the in-house "Idol" reaction immediately following the news to the ripples it created in the celeb-o-sphere — people are just plain pissed by Pia's elimination, and nowhere was that more apparent that in the comments that were left by "Idol" fans on MTV.com.
We were flooded with messages from readers, most of whom were so outraged by Toscano's departure that they swore they'd never watch "Idol" again. Others floated vast voting conspiracies, wondered aloud why "lesser" contestants like Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald remained in the competition,...

Swamp rock guru Dale Hawkins has passed away after losing his battle with colon cancer at the age of 73. The musician was best known for his 1957 hit 'Susie Q' and pioneering the rockabilly style. The original song featured a 15-year-old James Burton on guitar and was released on Chess Records. Hawkins later sold the rights and the track became (more)...

The Lovely Bones
Directed by: Peter Jackson
Cast: Saoirse Ronan, Mark Wahlberg, Racehl Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Stucci
Running Time: 2 hrs 10 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: Dec. 25, 2009
Plot: In a quiet town in 1973, a young girl (Ronan) is killed and then watches over her family (and her killer) in the afterlife. Her family must try to come to grips both with what has happened, as well as the issue of whether her killer will ever be found.
Who’S It For? This is a tough call. Clearly, fans of the novel will want to see this tale come to life. Others will want to see what Mr. Lord of the Rings has done next. It’s not your typical mystery, but I’m not saying that’s a compliment.
Expectations: None. I heard some Oscar buzz, and saw a little of the trailer, but the only thing I knew was a girl dies … and narrates.

Creedence Clearwater Revival (79)
Bayou Country (94)
Green River (96)
Willy and the Poor Boys (87)
Cosmo’s Factory (90)
Pendulum (68)
Four decades later, Ccr’s classic albums sip like the smoothest of ’shine
Creedence Clearwater Revival was a commercial juggernaut, with nine Top 10 hits between 1969-71, even outselling The Beatles in 1969. Although encamped right across the bay from San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury, Ccr never injected the slightest hint of peace, love and understanding into its canon. The band had a different inspiration. The strange subterranean world of an imagined South—twisted, eerie and nefarious—inflamed John Fogerty’s mind with images of voodoo ceremonies under gnarled trees dripping with Spanish moss and portent. A fan of horror flicks and Edgar Allan Poe, he urged his band to cover Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put A Spell On You,” penned the dirge freakout “Gloomy,” and put a brittle bite into Dale Hawkins’ “Susie Q,” adding dirty,...
