The common connection about Ashok Kumar, Dev Anand and Dharmendra, is that all have been ever present for more than 60 years. Ashok Kumar worked in movies since making his debut in 1935 with Jeevan Naiya and his final movie was 62 years later with Aankhon Mein Tum Ho released in 1997. Dev Anand made his debut in 1946 with Hum Ek Hain and his last release was 65 years later with Chargesheet in 2011. Dharmendra made his debut in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere and as of 2022, he is still active in his acting career with upcoming movies still set for release. Dev Anand is the only actor to have entered eight decades into his movie career and thus holding the world record, working from the 1940s to 2010s (Chargesheet in 2011 was his final and only release in that decade).
This film is one of the longest release of a sequel for a Bollywood movie series - 'Jewel Thief' was released in 1967 but waited 29 years before a sequel was released. It was the longest release of a sequel until it was equalled by Sadak 2 in 2020 which was itself a sequel of Sadak released in 1991.
Vijay Anand refused to direct the sequel.
