- A group of hunters shoot at the geese flying over, but miss.
- In the beginning Amy's mom dies in a car crash and then it shows Amy in he hospital and she has some blood on her.
- A man attempts to clip a baby goose's wing with a pair of nail clippers; Amy hits him over the head with a metal bowl before he is able to do so. The girl's father then forcibly removes the man from their house.

- The car crash isn't really scary, but it's really sad.
- The whole theme of bereavement is very sad.
