Hidetaka Miyazaki likes making excellent video games. And when he is done making those games, he instantly goes around to making even better DLCs for those games. This has been evident from the work he has done previously. Pretty much every game before Elden Ring FromSoftware has released had an expansion, and each one of those expansions only made those games better.
And now, after more than two years of launching their last game, Elden Ring, they are once again preparing an incredible new expansion. This expansion promises a new map with a bunch of new areas to explore. A bunch of new bosses and new lore. But the director thinks there’s something else that makes it stand out from everything they have done before.

A 1996 movie originally went by the title of Mr Spielberg's Boat. Until lawyers got involved...
In recent years, film writer and director John Huddles has been busying himself with several projects, not least his reasonably well-received thriller After The Dark. Yet he nearly came a cropper with his debut feature, 1996’s Far Harbor.
The film, which would go on to star Jennifer Connolly, Dan Futterman and Marcia Gay Holden, originally went by a different title. A title that brought it to the attention of director Steven Spielberg’s lawyers.
Huddles named the movie Mr Spielberg’s Boat, after seeing the bearded-director's then 131-foot yacht anchored at Sag Harbor, in the New York area of the USA. The draft of the film followed the story of a bunch of young professionals who see the yacht anchored off-shore, and production duly began.

Its been a while now since Bethesda last provided an update on the state of mods for the PlayStation 4 version of Fallout 4, but it appears as if owners of Sony’s console still have a bit of a wait ahead of them before they finally arrive. As per a Tweet posted yesterday on the official Fallout page, Bethesda said that they’re still working with Sony to get the situation resolved, but still isn’t ready to give a firm release date.
We’re working w/ Sony on Fallout 4 Mod support for PS4. The process is still under evaluation. As soon as we learn more, we will share news.

It’s not exactly clear what’s causing the hold-up, but the original delay announcement detailed three key issues that were stopping the update from going ahead.

After rolling out Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and the beefy Far Harbor expansions for Fallout 4, Bethesda took to the stage at E3 2016 to confirm that a further three add-ons were due to release for the critically-acclaimed RPG.
That support began with the launch of Contraptions last month, and will continue through Vault-Tec Workshop and Nuka-World in the coming months. However, the latter Dlc will bring an end to Fallout 4‘s post-launch support, according to Bethesda’s VP of Marketing Pete Hines.
It’s set to arrive at some point next month, and though there’s no release date to report at this time, Hines confirmed that Bethesda is nearing the finish line with its RPG sequel.

The first of three new Dlc packs for Fallout 4 announced during E3 is due to release today on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Contraptions, a bite-sized piece of add-on content following the humongous Far Harbor expansion brings with it a host of new machinery and quality-of-life devices for the player to build and customize their settlements with. Elevators, scaffolding kits and armor racks are just some of the new so-called contraptions you’ll have access to upon downloading the content for $4.99. The description on Bethesda’s website reads:
Machines that sort! Machines that build! Machines that combine! With Fallout 4 Contraptions, use conveyer belts, scaffolding kits, track kits, even logic gates to construct crazy and complex gadgets to improve your Wasteland settlements. The Contraptions Workshop also includes all-new features like elevators, greenhouse kits, warehouse kits, fireworks, armor racks and more!
Two more pieces of Dlc are due to release for Fallout 4 in the coming months.

It hasn’t been smooth sailing for those early adopters who picked up Far Harbor, the latest and indeed largest expansion for Fallout 4, on PlayStation 4.
Reports of performance issues came to the fore just as the add-on launched early last week, at a time when framerate problems and freezing become a regular occurrence on PS4. But a fix is on the way, now that Bethesda has submitted the latest Fallout 4 update to Sony for final approval, meaning said fix ought to become available over the coming days.

Breaking down the technical hiccups found in Far Harbor, Eurogamer and Digital Foundry revealed that, at its worst, the framerate dipped to 15 frames-per-second on Sony’s console – a far cry from Bethesda’s 30Fps norm.

Few things excite me more than a new Fallout game and its post-launch Dlc. There’s nothing like getting immersed within a great Western RPG, and this is a series that ticks all of my boxes. As such, it should come as no surprise that I was excited to hear that Bethesda would be taking us to a brand new location with Fallout 4‘s first large-scale expansion: Far Harbor.
Located North of the Boston Commonwealth, Far Harbor is a large but remote island, which exists in isolation. It’s on that water-surrounded rock where three different factions – the human residents of the Far Harbor settlement, the synthetics who populate an old military institution, and a radiation-loving cult called the Children of Atom – live at odd’s end. Peace is nonexistent, war is on the horizon, and it’s up to the player to decide how things should play out.

Released across consoles and PC on May 19, Bethesda has acknowledged the performance issues that have since reared their head within Fallout 4‘s Far Harbor expansion.
According to an official blog post, the developer is now “actively working on more improvements” for the recently-released Dlc, admitting that although Far Harbor is currently running at a smoother rate over its pre-release beta version, there are still improvements to be made.
“We made optimizations based on the Far Harbor beta feedback, but understand some people are experiencing issues,” Bethesda said. “We are actively working on more improvements.”
Early adopters of the content pack have pointed to issues with frame rate, largely due to the heavy use of atmosphere and particle effects in the Dlc’s foggy areas. Alas, Bethesda is yet to nail down a timeline for those fixes, but we’ll update this post as soon as more information comes to light.

Fallout 4‘s tough as nails Survival Mode comes to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this week, Bethesda has announced via Twitter. The unforgiving, optional level of extreme difficulty will launch alongside the game’s 1.5 update, which is currently slated to go live on Friday for both consoles.

Bethesda has said previously that Survival Mode is all about giving the player tougher choices by introducing “circular systems you might find in a game like Dark Souls“, i.e. “two or more systems that push against each other.” For this reason, there’s four important “pillars” that Bethesda adhered to when creating the bonus difficulty.
1. Strategy: Intensify decisions involving when to get into combat versus when to avoid it, and also make you think more about what gear to take into combat.

As the long-awaited Creation Kit enters open beta testing, Fallout 4‘s already-tested Survival Mode moves in the opposite direction and is now live for all PC players. The 1.5 update is active through Steam, and it includes the revamped Survival challenge along with several other improvements and optimizations.
The new update brings support for the upcoming Far Harbor Dlc and adds an optimization to make third person camera control much more functional when the player’s character is close to an object or building wall – a more than welcome fix.
Most importantly, however, the 1.5 update fully introduces the Survival Mode to all PC players, following the waves of feedback received during the beta phase. All of the additional challenges are added to the game with this mode active, and characters set under the Survival difficulty will appear under their own filter in the Character Selection.

It's time to capture your enemies and force them to fight in an arena of your making when Fallout 4's Dlc Wasteland Workshop comes out! Check out the trailer!
The workshop is about to be open and we can't wait! Fallout 4 has already won tons of awards and countless people's time. They even made their Dlc's fun. When Automatron came out, I was skeptical because too many times studios make DLCs and they end up having minimal effect on a game. That's not what Bethesda is all about and they're doing it again for Wasteland Workshop.
With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!

Return to the Commonwealth with today’s reveal trailer for Automatron, the first Fallout 4 Dlc pack launching across consoles and PC on Tuesday, March 22.
Priced at $9.99 as a standalone download, Automatron is part of the RPG’s three-part Season Pass – a post-launch story that has grew in the telling, judging by the recent price hike. Before Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor touch down in April and May, respectively, players will be on the hunt of a devious and indeed mysterious Mechanist, who is plotting a robot uprising on the irradiated plains of the Commonwealth.
Bethesda pitched the add-on content as so:

If you’ve been hungering for more to do in Fallout 4 since conquering the Boston Wasteland, you might want to snap up the game’s season pass now. As of tomorrow, Bethesda will be hiking up the price of Fallout 4‘s season pass from $30 to $50, a decision that’s been made because of the “increased value” of it.
Despite releasing some – albeit slim – details on three of the Dlc packs headed to the game as part of the pass, gamers are still largely in the dark about how much new content the pass as a whole will actually introduce into the vanilla experience.
As of now, we only have confirmation of three Dlc packs. Automatron (pictured above) adds a new companion, and the ability to customize and apply different parts and color schemes to your new robotic friend. Wasteland Workshop, another micro-dlc pack, enables the Solve Survivor to create new...

Official Fallout 4 mod support will make its debut for those on PC come April, according to Game Director Todd Howard, with a console release to follow thereafter.
Speaking to Game Informer regarding the RPG’s newly unveiled Dlc plans, Howard noted that Bethesda “wants to get it up on PC and have it work” before expanding mod support across PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Should the studio stick to the April release plan for PC, expect the much-anticipated feature to hit Xbox One in May and finally PlayStation 4 in June.
When quizzed about Fallout 4‘s expansions specifically – Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor – Howard had some new details to share about the former, comparing the progression system to the one found in Pokémon.
“The first one, Automatron, has a little quest line and this Pokemon-esque ‘kill robots, get their parts, build your own’ [gameplay],” Howard explained. “The Wasteland Workshop Dlc is obviously for Workshop people.

Fans knew the Dlc was coming, but they didn’t know when, with Bethesda doing a typically great job of keeping their big announcements behind shutters until such time as they see fit. Now, they’ve officially revealed three Dlc packs – Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor – which will be launching in March, April and May respectively.
Each Dlc focuses on different aspects of the game, and by the looks of things the biggest of the three packs will be Far Harbor, which as far as we know is the only one that actually opens up a whole new area for players to explore.
And with new content come new possibilities in a game that prides itself on offering players a ton of choice in how they want to engage with the world. Naturally, the Dlc has also courted its fair share of controversy, as Bethesda announced that the...

Upon detailing plans for the first wave of expansions to release for Fallout 4, yesterday Bethesda revealed that the asking price for the game’s season pass will increase from $29.99 to $49.99 beginning March 1.
According to the publisher, upwards of $60 worth of Dlc is in the works for this calendar year, which explains the pricing hike for Fallout 4‘s added content. Despite this, aggrieved fans took umbrage with the changes, leading Pete Hines, Vice President of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, to address some of the criticism directed at the developer.
Per Twitter:
@Davectr not sure what you mean. if you already have Sp, you get everything. if you don’t, you have weeks to get it for $30. or not.
— Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) February 16, 2016
@KevinWelge doesn’t really matter. adds into your existing experience regardless of where you are and what you’ve done

Last November, fans of the Fallout series finally got their chance to play the latest installment of the popular Bethesda franchise. With just a couple of months removed from its release, we're now getting news on all the Dlc's you can expect over the next few months and a price change in Season Pass. Read on for more!
During E3 2015, Bethesda shocked the world by announcing that Fallout 4, their flagship saga, was coming out in mid-November, that year. The game exploded into households, upon release, with many gamers logging countless hours of gameplay. However, that wasn't the end of Bethesda's plans for console domination. We knew there would be a Dlc coming soon, however, we didn't realize that Bethesda had 3 DLCs in the works.
Starting in March, gamers can download the first of 3 DLCs that will each come out the month after. Check out the breakdown below!

Staying true to its promise that Dlc news was right around the corner, Bethesda has today detailed the initial wave of expansions headed to Fallout 4, all the while confirming that the set price for the game’s season pass will increase from $29.99 to $49.99 (£24.99 to £39.99 Gbp; $49.95 to $79.95 Aud) effective March 1.
Taking to its official blog, the first set of add-on content will comprise Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor. They can be picked up individually, and are on course to release in March, April and May, respectively.
First up, Automatron has you explore the irradiated plains of the Commonwealth in search of a mysterious Mechanist, after unleashing a horde of evil robots. Your task, then, is to “hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions.”
Wasteland Workshop, meanwhile, is the cheapest offering of the bunch at $4.99. It’ll involve...

Superman's been played by a shitton of actors -- both through voice work and live action -- throughout the years. Now that they are re-re-rebooting Superman again maybe probably but not, I remember Kevin Smith's story about Jon Peters and his rules for rebooting Superman. No tights, no flying, and he had to fight a giant spider. This was the man that owned the rights to the project, and he was able to make stipulations about how Superman should be played. And Barbra Streisand's former hairdresser -- yes, that was Jon Peters -- was afraid of making Superman too "faggy."
So I checked five of the actors who've played Superman (according to IMDb) and checked to see whether or not they've ever done a gay role in Hollywood. And whaddya know? Pretty much most of them have. And give Tom Welling time now that Smallville's wrapping.
