Gilmore Girls' Lowest-Rated Episode Shows How Much Viewers Hated Christopher
Image
"French Twist" is the lowest-rated Gilmore Girls episode due to Lorelei's rushed marriage to Christopher. Fans disliked Lorelei's sudden wedding after the breakup with Luke, and her lack of chemistry with Christopher. Rory's attitude and France's portrayal in the episode were also criticized by viewers.

The lowest-rated episode of Gilmore Girls confirms a harsh reality regarding Christopher (David Sutcliffe) and his storyline with Lorelei (Lauren Graham). Despite its ongoing popularity, Gilmore Girls has moments that make viewers quit the series, whether they be a disappointing story beat or a choice that contradicts established characterization. However, one particular episode that truly angered viewers and resulted in the worst rating of the series was season 7, episode 7, "French Twist".

The episode was one of Gilmore Girls' most controversial storylines, as it had Lorelei marry Christopher after the two slept together. Lorelei and Luke had only just broken up after several episodes of...

Gilmore Girls: 14 Moments That Led To Lorelai & Christopher's Divorce
Image
Lorelai and Christopher's divorce on Gilmore Girls had many reasons. They rushed into marriage and ignored red flags. Lorelai and Christopher also didn't communicate with Rory about getting married. Christopher struggled to fit into Stars Hollow and didn't accept Lorelai's maturity.

There were many reasons Lorelai and Christopher got divorced on Gilmore Girls. Throughout the show, Rory's parents couldn't work out if they were best friends, brief lovers, or soulmates. After meeting when they were just 6 years old, the two became physically intimate in high school and conceived Rory when they were 16. Lorelai chose to raise Rory alone. Christopher didn't become a presence in Rory's life until they were 16, but this led to a new spark between Lorelai and Christopher. By Gilmore Girls season 7 they were married, though Lorelai and Christopher had divorced before season 8 arrived.

When Rory started high school, Lorelai and Christopher reconnected, which started a second chapter for the pair.

Neuchatel Fantastic Film Festival Celebrates the Unexpected
Image
For more than two decades, the Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival (Nifff) has been a draw for genre filmmakers from across the globe and a pull for Swiss youth. Heading into its 22nd edition, which runs June 30 – July 8, the lakeside event will once again showcase the kind outré and audacious fare that Neuchatel’s reliable and devoted young public has come to expect, while continuing to bridge outward, welcoming more unfamiliar faces into the fold.

“By instinct, influence, and mutual attraction, genre cinema will always appeal to the young,” says Nifff director Pierre-Yves Walder. “In fact, Nifff attracts one of the youngest publics of any Swiss festival, but I’d like to convert different audiences of perhaps different ages as well. And not just for commercial reasons; I find it so interesting and essential to mix things up.”

Showcasing 124 films, including eight world premieres and seven international launches, this year...

What Gilmore Girls' Worst-Rated Episode Is (And Why It's Disliked)
Image
Gilmore Girls has many iconic episodes and moments, though it's also made some missteps, which is evident with the series' worst-rated episode. Gilmore Girls has a high degree of rewatchability due to its likable characters, witty and fast-paced dialogue, and warm and cozy tone. Many episodes, such as the Gilmore Girls season 4 finale, "Raincoats and Recipes," have stood out as fan favorites. However, the show isn't perfect, and some episodes definitely miss the mark.

Looking at the IMDb ratings for Gilmore Girls, most episodes score around a seven or eight out of 10. A select few episodes have received nines, including "Raincoats and Recipes," which currently has a 9.3, the highest episode rating of the series. Most Gilmore Girls episodes seem to be pretty well-received, and the Gilmore Girls series finale, "Bon Voyage," also has a high rating (9.1/10) on IMDb. Many of Gilmore Girls' highest-ranking episodes have satisfying emotional moments and great character dynamics.

France’s Oscar Submission: Three Women Filmmakers Among Possible Selections That Could End 30-Year Drought
Image
France has been a supreme force in the Oscars’ international feature race for decades. This year, three acclaimed films from women directors — Céline Sciamma, Audrey Diwan and Julia Ducournau — are believed to be at the top of the list to represent the country for the upcoming 94th ceremony, set to take place on March 27. Though France is the most-nominated country in the history of the category, it hasn’t walked away with the prize in nearly 30 years. Can that change this year?

The French submission is decided annually by the National Cinema Center. The committee will hold its first meeting on Thursday to pre-select a shortlist of films, with the producers being “auditioned” by the committee on Oct. 12, before the final choice is made. Sciamma’s “Petite Maman,” Ducournau’s “Titane” and Diwan’s “Happening” are believed to be the favorites for consideration. “Happening” was just acquired by IFC Films...

Gilmore Girls: 5 Things The Highest-Rated Episode Did Wrong (& 5 Things The Lowest-Rated Did Right)
Victoria Abril in Peccato che sia femmina (1995)
Although fictional relationships aren't everything when it comes to failure or success, it's hard not to notice that per IMDb user ratings, Gilmore Girls' highest rated episode is the episode in which Luke and Lorelai finally get together, while it's lowest rated episode ("French Twist" scoring a 6.7 rating) is the episode where Lorelai and Christopher decide to get married on a whim.
