This post contains spoilers for the premiere of "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live."
They finally did it. Just moments into the premiere episode of the new series "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live," right after audiences catch a glimpse of hero Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) for the first time in over five years, the poor man finally loses a hand.
It's a twist that's been a long time coming for fans of Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard's "Walking Dead" comic books, yet this new spinoff series manages to make it feel utterly shocking nonetheless. In the original comics, cop-turned-world-weary apocalypse survivor Rick gets a surprise amputation courtesy of The Governor as early as issue 28. In the AMC "Walking Dead" universe, however, The Governor came and went an entire decade ago, with David Morrisey in the role of the eye-patch-wearing villain.
In the years since Morrisey's departure,...

If there’s one thing The Walking Dead has proved lately, it’s that a character having met their final end is no barrier to them reappearing in the franchise, and not just as a member of the shambling undead.
David Morrissey, who memorably portrayed the Governor in seasons 3 and 4, has expressed interest in returning as a part of the movies planned to take place within the show’s world. In a recent interview, he said:
“They’re doing movies and in some of them they might be doing origin stories, and I would love it if they were doing mine. I haven’t got any inside information, I loved doing the show and loved doing the part. If they wanted me to go back I would. There are three great novels [about the Governor] and I think they would make great movies. If they wanted to, they could go back to before...

Where has The Governor been so far in The Walking Dead's fourth season? The show's producers tell all...
Hearing a showrunner's public declaration that he's "sick of" your character would put the willies up most actors, prompting a few frantic calls to the agent. "Hi, it's David here, tell Strictly to bump Rustie Lee; I'll do it".
Not David Morrissey though, whose role as The Governor in The Walking Dead is far from over. Scott Gimple may be sick of him, but that doesn't mean he's out of favour with the show's executive producers, "It's not that we don't like that character; it's just that we needed to give that character a break" says Robert Kirkman. "Going right back into that would seem like more retread of season three, and that's the thing we don't want to do."
Responding to concern that season...

The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.
For you to see for yourself, below are what we are calling the “headliner” panels; those panels that are taking place in Hall H, Ballroom 20, Room 6Bdf, and the just-next-door Hilton Indigo Ballroom, the four major venues for panels. There are descriptions of each panel as well as the show(s) and/or movie(s) they are there to discuss.
See how many conflicts you might have, or how you might arrange time and space to somehow attend these plus spend every day in the vendors’ Exhibit Hall and chasing zombies in the nearby The Walking Dead Escape. By the way, if you figure that out, Please let us know.

Exclusive: Acclaimed British TV writer-producer Lynda La Plante, creator of Prime Suspect, is set to develop Villains of All Nations, a drama series for Lionsgate TV based on historian Marcus Rediker’s book about the “Golden Age” of piracy in the 17th and 18th centuries. The project is described as a "modern, bold and gritty interpretation of the genre," using Redkier's book as a springboard. Lionsgate TV Group president Kevin Beggs said the company had been looking to work with La Plante for a while. “Not only is she a brilliant writer, she happens to have a longtime love and knowledge of the subject matter, and we believe she can achieve exactly the kind of ‘Deadwood on the high seas’ sensibility we’re looking for," he said. On Villians of All Nations, La Plante joins executive producers Alexandra Milchan (Street King) and Alessandro Camon (Thank You for Smoking). Redike is...
