All three of the films Jim Carrey made in 1994 (Ace Ventura - Ein tierischer Detektiv (1994), Die Maske (1994) & Dumm und Dümmer (1994)) were adapted as Saturday morning cartoons in 1995: Ace Ventura (1995), Die Maske (1995) and Dumb and Dumber (1995). Of these, only Ace Ventura was able to secure the rights to make the character resemble Carrey.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels declined to reprise their roles for this animated series based on their 1994 live-action film of the same name.

Cancelled after 13 episodes due to the network buyout by Disney.

Due to events that retroactively occur/are stated in Dumb and Dumber To, this series is no longer canon.

Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke would later work together on the long running and popular Nickelodeon animated series, SpongeBob Schwammkopf (1999).
