A True Hero (1994) is about a triad member who decides to turn his life around after a tragic incident he was involved in that resulted in deaths of the innocent. Vowing to change his evil ways, he becomes a student teacher. His old friends and girl friend (Anita Yuen) are shocked by his new life choice. Simon's life goes well until one day when he discover's that one of his class room students has become involved with a local triad. He appeals to the boss to let the kid go. The boss scoffs at him and decides to make everyones life miserable. In a selfless act, Simon and his girlfriend take out the gangster and sacrifice their lives so the kids can be safe in school and live out their lives in peace and freedom from the triads. He shows them what a true hero really is.
