Rob Zombie was nearly one of the sordid characters running amok in Robert Rodriguez‘s Sin City.

The filmmaker/musician shared the anecdote on Instagram with photos from Spike TV’s 2006 Scream Awards, where The Devil’s Rejects took home the award for Best Horror Movie.

“Robert asked me to play a role in Sin City but I was shooting The Devil’s Rejects at the time and had to decline,” he writes.

It’s unknown what part Zombie would have played — perhaps a Swat team member alongside (or in place of) Rodriguez himself — but it likely would have been a cameo given his busy schedule and inexperience in front of the camera.

Zombie made his big screen debut in Airheads, although he merely played himself as the frontman of White Zombie. He later took on the uncredited role of Dr. Wolfenstein’s assistant in his directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses.

It’s been over 25 years since the death of Chris Farley, but his presence in comedy remains undeniable. Fans of golf and/or hockey and/or Adam Sandler should mark their calendars for April 27th and 30th, as Universal Pictures has announced plans to re-release the seminal 1996 film Happy Gilmore in theaters.

Happy Gilmore was Sandler’s second major starring role following 1995’s Billy Madison. The movie featured the SNL alum as a hotheaded aspiring hockey player who discovers a more lucrative use for his killer slapshot — professional golf — just when he’s in desperate need of cash to save his grandmother’s house.

The much-anticipated biopic chronicling the life of late Saturday Night Live star Chris Farley has taken a substantial step forward, according to recent statements from actor Paul Walter Hauser, who is set to portray Farley. On the day that “Happy Gilmore 2” wrapped principal photography, Adam Sandler called in to “The Dan Patrick Show” to discuss the comedy sequel, dishing on some cameos for the film and teasing a potential release date for the Netflix production.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, New Line Cinema outbid the competition to land the Chris Farley biopic, with the Josh Gad-directed film moving ahead at the studio. Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber are the co-writers for the feature-length project, based on Tom Farley Jr. and Tanner Colby's acclaimed biography, The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts. Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels is one of the film's producers.

New Line Cinema proved to be more highly motivated than the rest of its competition in landing the forthcoming Chris Farley biopic that is set to star Paul Walter Hauser as the late comedy legend.

The company has landed director Josh Gad’s film following a highly competitive situation. Hauser, a recent Emmy winner for his work in Apple TV+’s Black Bird, will star as Farley, the Saturday Night Live standout and star of such films as Tommy Boy who died of a drug overdose in 1997 at age 33.

Barker was best known as the long-running host of "The Price is Right" revival, which premiered on CBS in 1972. Barker told contestants to "Come on down!" and ushered them through the fabulous Showcase Showdown innumerable times during his tenure as host through 2007. But even before those three-plus decades of television excellence, Barker had already hosted the popular game show "Truth or Consequences" for 21 years, between 1956 and 1975.

Bassist Nikki Sixx, guitarist Mick Mars, drummer Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil joined forces to make Mötley Crüe, one of the most successful bands of the 1980s and well-documented hedonist troublemakers.

Murder Mystery star Adam Sandler sent his congratulations to a talented young golfer, Happy Gilmore, who shares the same name as his character in the 1996 comedy film.

After real-life Happy Gilmore announced that he has officially committed to Ball State University for his academic and golf career, Sandler took to Twitter to express his support to the high school senior. Gilmore, whose actual name is Landon, received the nickname "Happy" when he began playing in golf tournaments at a young age. Sandler’s Happy Gilmore movie is one of his classic comedies from the 1990s, which helped establish his status as a leading man.

Academy Award-winner Brendan Fraser kept the party going a full day after the 2023 Oscars on March 12. Solidifying his status as a cool dad, "The Whale" star - who attended the award show with his two children and his girlfriend Jeanne Moore - showed up to support his guitarist son, Leland Fraser, at the 16-year-old's concert the night after the film ceremony.

During the show, held at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, Leland hopped up on stage to jam with '80s cover band Fast Times. "Wild night at The Whiskey," he captioned a clip of himself shredding on guitar. DJ Ashba, who performed the same night, hopped in the comments section to show his support for the young musician. "Yo bro! You killed it last night!" he wrote.

In photos from the event shared on Fast Times's Instagram account, Brendan threw up a pair of devil horns while hanging out with the band.

Brendan Fraser delivered an emotional acceptance speech in response to his Oscar win for his performance in The Whale. Based on the stage play of the same name, the critically acclaimed indie features Fraser in the role of a morbidly obese English professor who seeks to reconnect with his estranged daughter (played by Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink). If you're a fan of the late comedian Chris Farley, you've most likely seen his famous "Saturday Night Live" sketch "Chippendales Audition." It first aired on October 27, 1990, and was the first to feature Farley in a lead role. It's probably his most famous sketch, though it's not without controversy. 

In the scene, host Patrick Swayze ("Dirty Dancing") plays Adrian and Farley plays Barney, two dancers auditioning to become part of the famous Chippendales dancers. Jan Hooks ("3rd Rock from the Sun"), Kevin Nealon ("Weeds"), and Mike Myers are there to judge them as they dance to "Working for the Weekend" by Loverboy. The two of them dance together on the stage, with Swayze doing all the expert moves you'd expect and Farley honestly working just as hard. He was one of the kings of physical comedy, after all.
