When Hugh Jackman bid farewell to his iconic role as Wolverine in the 2017 flick Logan, fans were struck by a bittersweet feeling. The movie proved to be an appropriate goodbye to the much-loved character, revealing a more vulnerable and emotional side to the clawed mutant. However, what many fans might not know is that The Wolverine couldn’t have taken place if Fox had adhered to their original plan to have Darren Aronofsky helm the 2013 flick.
The Wolverine, a sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), was originally slated to be directed by Aronofsky, who is best known for his dark and intense movies like Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream. But, as fate would have it, the director eventually dropped out of the project in order to allow James Mangold to step in and take the reins.

The end of the 1990s was an odd time for cinema and in general. We were in the midst of Y2K, a panic over clocks and computers needing to roll over from 99 to 00, something people feared more than monsters and cults, something people really feared and fearmongered about. It was expected to be something of an apocalypse by some. So of course, Hollywood ran with it. Technology gone wrong, end of days, Satan coming to Earth, etc. We got films like Strange Days, Stigmata, eXistenZ, Virus, The Matrix, and End of Days (watch it Here), our movie today.
Following a dry patch of work for Arnold Schwarzenegger following Batman & Robin and heart surgery, he didn’t get all that many offers and eventually, it seemed like he would not be coming back. Then, End of Days came his way, and it seemed like a good, if darker than his then-recent work,...

James McCaffrey, a seasoned veteran of the small screen and the voice of the iconic video game character Max Payne, has died.
He was 65.
According to reports, McCaffrey died Sunday of multiple myeloma cancer.
He was probably most well-known to non-video game players for his work on Rescue Me, where he played Jimmy Keefe.
Keefe was a New York firefighter who lost his life on 9/11.
He appears as a ghost to his cousin, played by Denis Leary, and his character drives some of Leary's richest scenes as Leary's character tries to understand the loss and why he's still alive.
McCaffrey had a series regular role for the first three seasons before switching to a recurring capacity for the final four seasons.
The FX hit also starred John Scurti, Michael Lombardi, Steven Pasquale, and Andrea Roth.
Throughout his career, the actor had countless credits across movies, TV, and video games.

1990’s Days of Thunder was the end of an era for Tom Cruise. It would be the last movie he’d make as part of his “youth” phase, which began with Risky Business. At the time, he was best known as the cocky young hot shot, but when this movie underperformed at the box office, Cruise took some time off and returned as a more seasoned leading man, with 1992’s A Few Good Men kicking off an unprecedented streak of hits. While Days of Thunder has a valued place in Tom Cruise’s filmography and remains a popular title, when it came out, the movie was considered such a disappointment that the movie’s two producers, Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckkeimer’s deal with Paramount Pictures came to a fractious end. So what happened?
“Top Gun on Wheels” – that’s what everyone called Days of Thunder in the summer of 1990. The studio.

Washington, May 22 (Ians) The US space agency has announced its first mobile robot to the Moon in late 2023 in search of ice and other resources on and below the lunar surface.
As part of the Artemis programme, data from the Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (Viper) would help the scientists map resources at the lunar South Pole that could one day be harvested for long-term human exploration at the Moon, the agency said in a statement late on Friday.
"The data received from Viper has the potential to aid our scientists in determining precise locations and concentrations of ice on the Moon and will help us evaluate the environment and potential resources at the lunar south pole in preparation for Artemis astronauts," said Lori Glaze, director for NASA's Planetary Science Division at the agency's headquarters in Washington, DC.

The first official trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3 has finally arrived after a few delays. If you saw Kung Fu Panda 2 then you know the reunion between Po (Jack Black) and his father Li (Bryan Cranston) was set up for this sequel, and it all looks to be worth the wait. I enjoyed the first two films a lot; the animation and humor is really some of the best I’ve seen in animation over the years and that’s including our Pixar friends.

Po knows kung fu, but he doesn't know his dad.
But that all changes in "Kung Fu Panda 3," which just dropped its first trailer today. In the DreamWorks Animation sequel, Po (Jack Black) continues his training with friends Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogen), and Viper (Lucy Liu). But he faces a very different sort of challenge - meeting his long-lost father (Bryan Cranston).
Reunited, father and son travel to a secret panda paradise, where Po discovers he doesn't really belong. There, he meets Mei Mei (Rebel Wilson), an overly eager female panda who's been promised to him in an arrange marriage.
The trailer looks much the same as the previous two "Kung Fu Panda" movies - cute, gently funny, a little shticky. We're sure the kids will love it.
"Kung Fu Panda 3" opens in theaters on Jan. 29, 2016.

The first Kung Fu Panda 3 trailer has arrived, and even though it's in Chinese, the footage is still awe-inspiring. Even better, though, is that the villain is finally revealed! Po, Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper and Crane are up against...one mean-looking minotaur. Watch the trailer below. The official plot synopsis for Kung Fu Panda 3 was pretty vague: in continuing his "legendary adventures of awesomeness," our jolly Panda must face two threats, one of which is supernatural and the other close to home. The latter we found out earlier to be the presence of Po's father, Li (voiced by Bryan Cranston). He's the master of hanging out and has been absent for most of his son's life. It was only through a promise he made to his dying wife that he would reunite with his son. This will, no doubt, cause some problems with Mr. Ping, Po's adopted father.

In his first screen role since departing "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," William Petersen has joined the cast of Tony Kaye's indie drama "Detachment."
"Mad Men's" Christina Hendricks and Lucy Liu also have come aboard.
Kaye, the hard-edged director who made "American History X," has assembled an ensemble cast for his high school-set drama that includes Adrien Brody, Bryan Cranston, James Caan and Marcia Gay Harden.
Carl Lund's script centers on a normally detached substitute teacher (Brody) who becomes invested in the students and teachers at the troubled school where he works and grows close to a homeless teen working as a prostitute.
Petersen will play a Vietnam veteran who teaches history. The character gets in trouble when, in a bid to teach tolerance, he shows a gay film in class.
Hendricks will play a teacher who urges Brody to commit to teaching full-time and might be a romantic interest.

Dawn Stern has landed the lead role in the ABC Family drama pilot Nobody, from Desperate Housewives writer Kevin Murphy.
Nobody centers on Jessica Drake (Stern), a mother who gives up her own identity to save the life of her daughter. In doing so, however, she finds that she must pay the price of being erased from the memories of her family and the rest of the world.
Jessica ends up working for a covert ops branch of heaven dedicated to fighting the forces of darkness on Earth -- while continuing to make sure her family is safe.
The pilot starts shooting this month in Vancouver.
Murphy is executive producing Nobody, based on the comic book created by Alex Amado, Sharon Cho and Charlie Adlard. He also is writing the pilot.
Noreen Halpern, John Morayniss, Jason Netter and Ken Levin also are executive producing.
Blueprint Entertainment will produce the one-hour project for ABC Family.
Stern was a series regular on NBC's Viper and Fox's 413 Hope St. She also has appeared on such series as UPN's The Parkers, CBS' The Young & the Restless, Fox's Wanda at Large and ABC's Thieves. Her film credits include The Fugitive and Original Gangstas.
Stern is repped by Robert S.
