Michelangelo is a party dude and that’s been a core part of the character since the beginning of Turtles in animation. Mutant Mayhem is ready to expand on this, with Master Splinter declaring that Mikey has “heart.” Mikey’s the youngest brother of the four Turtles, and even though they all love pizza, Mikey has them beat in his devotion to it. He’s the fun spirit of the team and is always ready to look on the bright side of things. Still, when push comes to shove he’s ready to defend his brothers. He also dreams of living in the human world and being accepted by the people who his father, Splinter, always warned him away from.
Mikey’s extremely thrilled when the Turtles run across other mutants out in the world. Calling them his “cousins,” he’s just excited...

[Warning: The following story contains spoilers about Season 2 of “The Bear.” Read at your own risk.]
Two years ago, “Ted Lasso” premiered its second season on July 23, just 10 days after Emmy nominations were announced. It was a strategic move, of course, to keep the Apple TV+ hit top of mind for voters as Phase 2 voting approached in August. Among the show’s 20 nominations for its breakout first season were four in Best Comedy Supporting Actor, and because of that, “Ted” was not predicted to win the award at the time. “Saturday Night Live” duo Kenan Thompson and Bowen Yang occupied the top two spots in the odds until two days before the ceremony, when “Ted” star and writer Brett Goldstein surged to first place and then walked away with the trophy. Goldstein had a secret weapon in hand: a stellar Season 2 for his character, Roy Kent, that voters surely could not ignore even though they were technically voting for...

A whole lot of horror fans recently signed up for the Peacock streaming service, since Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends were both released on Peacock the same day they reached theatres. To help horror fans find ways to make their Peacock subscription worthwhile, we here at Arrow in the Head have compiled a list of the Best Horror Movies on Peacock Right Now! Check it out:
Mikey (1992)
Director Dennis Dimster-Denk’s Mikey had the tagline “Remember, Jason and Freddy were kids once too”, and the movie does its best to make sure the titular creepy kid (played by Brian Bonsall) is just as deadly as any adult slasher. Mikey does some really nasty stuff in this movie and racks up an impressive body count… and Dimster-Denk certainly wasn’t afraid of pushing the envelope. The movie begins with the murder of a five-year-old and proceeds to show Mikey obsessively creeping...

I have to admit that, much like a good portion of Netlfix users, I did not have high hopes for “Is It Cake?” based on initial previews. The streaming reality TV competition showcases contestants creating cakes that replicate common objects in an effort to trick celebrity judges. Winners of each episode receive 5,000 and a chance to win more money by identifying which display of cash is real and which is cake.
After that initial first episode, I was hooked on a show that is not only worth your time, but Emmy consideration as well. Here are five reasons why “Is It Cake?” should be on your watchlist and on Emmy voters’ minds.
See our dozens of interviews with 2022 Emmy contenders
1. Mikey Day: “Saturday Night Live’s” Mikey Day is an excellent host for this reality competition. He is not only a blast to watch as a viewer, but is truly...

A24 presents Red Rocket in six theaters this weekend ahead of a limited expansion in New York and LA, adding Chicago, Austin and San Francisco next weekend with a wider rollout over the holidays to several hundred screens.
The dark comedy by Sean Baker premiered at Cannes to a five-minute standing ovation and garnered a trio of Gotham Award nods including Best Screenplay for Baker and co-writer Chris Bergoch, Outstanding Lead Performance for Simon Rex, who plays washed up porn star Mikey Saber with magnetic high-octane glee, and Breakthrough Performer for Suzanna Son as Strawberry, a sultry teenage doughnut shop employee Mikey sees as his ticket home. Saber had returned from LA to his small Texas City, Texas hometown, which does not want him, to regroup amid the oil refineries he pedals by on his bike over and over looking for work, love or mischief. The...

Welcome back, dear readers, for the next installment of Daily Dead’s 2021 Holiday Gift Guide! Today, we’re turning our attention toward all the amazingly brilliant indie artists and creators who celebrate horror and sci-fi with the work they do. For today’s gift guide, we’ve organized everything into specialized sections, including artwork, apparel and accessories, jewelry and enamel pins, and a miscellaneous category where you’ll find a fun assortment of items and gift ideas for this holiday season.
A quick note: I think most of us are aware that mail and shipping has been slow as molasses this year, so I encourage you to do your shopping early on, as some of these sites have a cut-off date coming up in the next week, and you wouldn’t want your gifts to arrive after the holidays. So, if you’re looking to do some shopping and support...

Austin, Texas, filmmaker Robbie Pickering’s “Natural Selection” was named Best Narrative Feature by both jurors and the audience and took home a total of seven honors at the annual South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival awards ceremony Tuesday night at the Vimeo Theater in the Austin Convention Center. (Pickering writes for Moving Pictures about the making of “Natural Selection” here.)
Meanwhile, director Tristan Patterson’s “Dragonslayer” was chosen as the Best Documentary Feature, while Vikram Gandhi’s “Kumaré” was the audience’s pick in the Documentary Feature category.
“Natural Selection” is the story of Linda White (Rachael Harris), a barren Christian housewife, whose world is turned upside-down when she discovers that her dying husband, Abe (John Diehl), has a 23-year old illegitimate son named Raymond (Matt O’Leary) living in Florida. On the edge of guilt and loneliness, Linda grants Abe’s final wish and sets off on...
