Sex & Nudity

  • Riggs is seen in his underwear lying on top of Lorna but no nudity or thrusting is shown, and sex is mostly implied.
  • One kissing scene is passionate, and some closeup shots include some caressing and innuendo, though it's minimal.

Violence & Gore

  • There's a long chase in which Riggs fights an bad guy in the back of a truck while two cops follow. One of the bad guys is knocked out of the truck, but survives. Riggs climbs to the front and knocks out the bad guy driver, throwing him through the windshield and stopping the truck. As the bad guy driver wakes up, Riggs punches him again, knocking him out.
  • A building explodes in the beginning of the film, but no one is harmed.
  • There is a large-scale car chase towards the climax of the film, in which one of the main characters chases some bad guys on a motorcycle. The motorcycle is seen crashing, and the character riding it is seen falling from a great height, but he survives, with a dislocated shoulder.
  • Lorna Cole beats up several attackers while Murtaugh and Riggs watches them.
  • Murtaugh and Riggs gets into an argument and briefly fight on a boat, and they fall into the water.
  • Travis shoots at Billy several times, point-blank, killing him.
  • There's a large shootout in a subway station and several men are shot and killed, and much heavy gunfire is exchanged.
  • There's a brief fight in a warehouse in which Riggs and Lorna fight off a group of bad guys. Lorna punches and kicks them, and Riggs brutally attacks them, before both escape in a truck.

Profanity

  • Cinemax content advisory: rated R for violence (V), adult language (AL), and adult content (AC).
  • 57 uses of 'f**k'. Also many uses of "damn", "hell", "ass", "son of a bitch", "s**t", etc.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A gang try to deal cocaine. They are interrupted by police officers.
  • Riggs chews dog biscuits to try and beat a smoking addiction.
  • Smoking is talked about frequently, but always with the accompanying fact that it is bad for the health.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Extensive action. Including several explosions, fistfights, and shootouts with mild blood.
  • A few hostage situations.
  • A character drives a truck through a series of half constructed wooden buildings with a leaking petrol tank. The petrol then ignites.

Violence & Gore

  • There's a large-scale shootout in a housing development in the end, and many bad guys are shot. Some mild explosions are present, and the entire development catches on fire at one point. Lorna Cole is shot by Travis, but she survives, and Roger kills an thug by throwing an axe into him.
  • Riggs and Travis brutally fight in a burning housing development in the end, and Riggs shoots Travis' through a bulldozer claw with armor-piercing bullets, killing him.
  • Several thugs with guns open fire on Riggs and Murtaugh when they try to arrest them, and the thugs get away after a brief shootout. Murtaugh shoots one of them, killing him. But it turns out to be Darryl, who he knows him as Nick's friend. Pretty shocking, but nonetheless emotional.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One of the main characters is seen drinking and getting drunk on his boat after he accidentally kills a teenager in self-defense. He comes out of his state though, and the drinking is not glorified.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Darryl is shot by Roger Murtaugh. This is a very emotive scene as he knows him. He is very depressed about the killing.
  • Darryl's funeral is very emotional.
